Hello everyone! My names Oliver (Ollie) but most of the time I’m called Squishy! I’m 1.5 years old (but I still look like a baby). I’m new to the forum and I thought it was necessary to share how cute I am!!!!

Oliver looks a lot like a bun my neighbor is fostering named Ollie.

How did I ever miss this thread?! He’s absolutely gorgeous with his chubby cheeks…and those huge eyes 😍 Lovely colouring too!

He reminds me so much of my bridge bunny Breintje who was a Nethie as well: he also had the chubby face and short ears.

I love how Ollie does his typical Nethie power stance: 1 kg of rabbittude and sass! Sometimes I woke up next to Breintje doing his Nethie power stance next to my pillow. He guarded me when I was in pain, and he looked like he’d take on the whole world for me. All 2,5 pounds of him against the world 🤣🥰

“Nethie power stance” !! That is a great term, and totally what they do! I’m fairly certain my Bunston was a false dwarf or at least a mix because he did that stance often!

That’s what the vet said too: a confident Nethie seems to have this powerful posture that radiates “You and what army?”.

In his younger years Breintje was unmanageable at the vet because he went wild in the carrier. After I started to carry him in the sling close to my body, he was calm, curious and even did his power stance on the table. As the vet described it: “Who can do anything to me? I’m here with my human!”.

I think that the posture is even a part of showing with this breed. The old man where Owen, Molly and Breintje came from told us that people practise this posture with their bunnies.

Nethies have pretty muscular bodies and well-developed front paws, probably from their wild ancestors who dig a lot. That makes them look pretty fierce, like a fluffy little warrior puffing out his chest.

He definitely has a lot of rabbittude (and the chubbiest of cheeks)! He’s my little guard bunny!
