Stop the presses! Now this is a scoop!
Molly has always been scared of petting and rarely allows it. Bas just sat close to her pen and Molly stood up on her hind legs, drew herself up against the bars and looked at him to attract his attention.
When he reached for her she walked a step to the side and sat down in a corner. He gently petted her,…[Read more]

If cloudy urine is occuring most of the time or if the urine is leaving behind a lot of sediment/build up behind, then that may be a sign to back down on calcium.
What is his diet, in terms of both content and quantity?

I’m not sure whether it’s being outside that’s the problem: he did it indoors too. I was getting pretty desperate and took them out into the hallway of the building, but he also thumped and ran from her there. The strange thing was: today he didn’t thump and run from her. They were outside at a different time than normal because I woke up very…[Read more]

They’re stubborn, they’re sassy, and they’re unbelievably messy… but I wouldn’t trade them for the world! ^_^ Look what they did to the carpet with their hay roll and their combined mega moult 😆
Bonding is still going with ups and downs, but they do love to hang out together. Picking them up to take them inside and outside is always…[Read more]

If you don’t see any other strange behaviour, I’d say he’s okay. (Look for general energy, appetite, whether withdraws from you, and general litter box habits). I’d take him to the vet if it recurs often, if he has general incontinence, if he has a wet bottom/legs, or if he has blood in his urine. Lifting up his tail is a normal behaviour, this…[Read more]

I am glad that your bun found a home with out after 3 years in a the shelter! Wow!
Some very interesting thoughts here, especially about the older males becoming hormonal.
When increased testosterone is from an adrenal issue, is this something that naturally happens with age OR is it an issue that needs looking into? Sorry, I kinda split ends on…[Read more]

Hi! I just noticed a pee stain in the corner of my bed. There was one big puddle, and then some little droplets around it. The pee was my bunny’s regular colour, but there was calcium in it too. I don’t normally catch calcium in my bunny’s pee, so this was a little scary for me. When he pees, his tail goes up, but I’m not sure if that’s normal.…[Read more]

Any pictures (current poos; not past poos — set-up, diet, area…), imaging data, physiological values, etc. would be helpful. Indeed, we are not vets, but we can still make observations that may be valuable.
If you are comfortable sharing your general location, perhaps the community can help with veterinary referrals as well.
When medical…[Read more]

It’s horrible to have your bunny this close to the edge, and I really keep my fingers crossed that she’ll recover. The ABs sound like a good plan.
It’s true that many bacteria can be harmless to someone with a normal funtioning immune system, but a big problem for someone with a dip in their immunity. I have an auto-immune disorder and I…[Read more]

Fingers crossed!
Also, if things aren’t going well in that small space, I would try enlarging the space before giving up. I have never had good luck in small space bonding, so just my 2 cents!

You mentioned she’s getting too big, so I’m guessing she’s also young?
I wonder if this could also be partially due to the onset of puberty, that just so happened to go along with the new box?

If you take a picture you can definitely post it here! I won’t be able to interpret but some other members might.
If you are having trouble uploading pictures directly, one way that’s been working for people is to add it to your profile (as though you are going to change your profile pic). Then the pic will stay in your media library and you can…[Read more]

Omg, rabbits are such little weirdos!
Normally you just put some used litter in the new box and place it where the old one was, but since Pumpkin seems to hate the new box anyway -maybe she’d accept the new box if you put the old one in it? Clean it first with the normal cleaning products you use so it smells like home. You could even rub some…[Read more]

pumpkin was getting too big for her old litterbox so i bought her a bigger one last week. ever since then she has been super destructive. she keeps digging all the litter out, chewing the pee pad and dragging it out of the box, trying to dump it out, etc. now she’s even being destructive outside of her xpen too. yesterday i noticed that she has…[Read more]

Going to use this as a way to track progress while doing a 24/7 bond! I had other posts going back to probably December? but had a hard time making progress just doing the dates and didn’t have time off work. Now, I finally have the time off work, so I’m going to suck it up the next few days and try for the best. These two bonding has caught me a…[Read more]

Sigh I’m so lost. He literally told me that her stat shows a very healthy bunny so the reason why she is like that has to be something other than health. Dana is there a way I can post her latest two blood work so someone with more medical sense can help review these numbers too? We are seeing a new vet on Friday but I just want to do some…[Read more]

Hmmm, interesting! These two are really at the stubborn phase!
Do you think this might stem from him being more afraid of being outside in general, and Molly less phased by it?
I think experimenting with the size of the space is a good idea. If they tend to fight more in small spaces then you know to stick with larger ones. You could even try…[Read more]

Yes my bun is neutered, not sure when but I think when he was much younger.
And yes if you’re bun was always kind of aggressive that makes a bit more sense too!
One thing that seems to help with one of my buns that was cage aggressive when I got her was to always “tell” her what I’m doing. I literally say “Ok Bonnie, I’m just going to refill…[Read more]
