Your rabbit is very cute! There seems to be some Himalayan in him, so he could be at least part California White? The Himalayan gene makes the ears, nose, toes and tail darker in winter (the gene responds to temperature). California White rabbits get fairly big, and have a reputation as being great pets due to their nice temperament.

My 3 month old bunny has been having these smelly moist poops. It’s not cecotropes it’s like regular poops just more soft/moist and has a onion kind of smell. I feed him unlimited alfalfa pellets and unlimited timothy hay. He doesn’t eat his hay that much but he’ll munch on it every now and then. I read somewhere that when a male bunny is sexuall…[Read more]

Honestly it seems a bit unusual for such a drastic change to happen, especially if its a been at least a week since the stasis/vet visit scents have settled down. If it doesn’t stop, I would actually investigate with a vet whether the spay was unsuccessful and there may be something leftover that is now producing hormones (and this just happened…[Read more]

In order to provide a reliable breed ID, more clear photos and from multiple angles of your rabbit’s entire body is needed, and also your rabbit’s weight and age.
If you have not already, I highly recommend reviewing the RABBIT INFO section of this website to ensure you are providing great housing, diet, and overall care for your new rabbit.…[Read more]

Small Pet Select’s version of the pine pellets are much less fragrant, in my experience, and also if you haven’t tried already, you can try putting down a litter screen to prevent dust/direct exposure to the litter: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rabbits/comments/sh5dzp/housing_example_litterbox_setup/

YAY! Hope you and the bunnies are nice and cool!
I don’t have air-conditioning (it isn’t until really needed here, or wasn’t until last few years)… though I did invest in a portable one for the buns after a horrible week last year, so totally get the struggle. It’s supposed to be in the 90s (~32C) today and hoping I can keep things under 80F…[Read more]

I’m glad to hear she’s doing so well! Try to get a look of her incisors, in case she’s broken off a piece of tooth or something like that. Hopefully its just her lip that’s a bit sore though!

Hey,
So I’m looking into anything I can do to help my baby girl live longer. We went to the vet today due to her having GI stasis.
The vet was a little bit more concerned at the fact that she was not eating but she didn’t show any other symptoms of GI. She is running around, grooming and just being her regular self minus the food aspect. He…[Read more]

Hi,
Thanks for the input! Beanie can move perfectly fine without any limping. I noticed a little red spot on her right lip and it was swollen a little bit. However, the swelling has mostly gone done now and the red spot has also shrunk. She can eat and drink perfectly fine but she still sometimes licks her lips. I assume she does this to try and…[Read more]

Small Pet Select does sell pelleted paper litter. They have 2 varieties. One is supposedly for cats, although there are reviews on it from several rabbit owners. The other pelleted paper litter is for small animals. I don’t know what the difference is between them. Neither one has baking soda. The price may be higher than Yesterday’s News,…[Read more]

Thank you both!
We ended up shaving her, and the poor girl looks pathetic. It turned out to be a good thing since she hadn’t really been properly groomed before we got her, so her fur was really matted. She’ll get a fresh coat and stay cool this summer. Definitely doesn’t look like an infestation, we saw a total of 3 the entire day and a small…[Read more]

Update: Owen has some chewed whiskers too, mostly the ones around his mouth. Those around his eyes and nose are longer.
I think that somebunny may be a klutz…

Hopefully Dana will see this (I’ll alert her to the thread). I’m clueless about bonding, sadly.

Thank you so much Bam!
I really hope that it clears up, because it started so suddenly. Then again, the illness of her brother may have been very stressful to her. Stress can affect hormones too.
Does anybody know if bonding dates are safe now? Or do you recommend waiting until she’s through this? She is constantly asking for attention and…[Read more]
