A headphone cord connected to a phone is very low voltage. You’ll probably need new headphones though, even if she didnt bite all the way through.
Rabbits really like to snip thin cotds like headphone chords and phone charger cables. It doesnt hurt the bun, but it hurts the owner’s wallet.

It sounds like he could just be settling into adult-hood. Most buns settle down a bit when they transition from baby to adult, so I’m sure that’s at least part of it. I think encouraging him to explore and move around with training is a great idea. You can also get or make food puzzles as enrichment activities.
In terms of toys, sometimes some…[Read more]

I’m sure she is perfectly fine. Buns have a taste for cords and usually the damage is more to the cord than the bun. The main concern would be electric shock but a headphone cord wouldn’t deliver a shock the way a power cord would, and in those cases you’d know right away if something was wrong.

My bunny, Daisy, nibbled a cord yesterday. It was a headphone cord that was plugged into my phone. She doesn’t usually chew things she’s not supposed to, so I didn’t think of moving my headphones off of my bed. She didn’t bite all the way through it, there was still one wire intact. She’s acting pretty normal but I’m still worried.

I have found that hot weather makes them sleep more. Doesn’t matter if they are inside where it’s air conditioned.

I agree with Dana. This does sound like territorial behavior. Some bunnies deal with things differently. Instead of trying to pick a fight, she is desperately marking and destroying things instead.
It may help if they are taken to a completely different location so you can bond them. Someone else’s house would be ideal, but you could also see if…[Read more]

If she is that young, then yes, a young rabbit formula would be best. There are several kinds out there. They are alfalfa-based instead of timothy-based. Alfalfa provides them with what they need to grow. Once they are done growing, then they need to be switched to an adult formula.
Alfalfa hay can be given in combination with the pellets, but…[Read more]

A little worried about Sage getting too crazy now. He’s been nipping A LOT. Lunging at the others when they’re just moving around and eating. He’s not latch on biting but it looks like he’s got some force. I’ve been checking the buns over for injuries and from what I’ve seen, he’s not leaving marks, but he’s starting to freak me out a bit. He can…[Read more]

Carefresh definitely would be the easiest for me to obtain as I have to order anything else. Oder control wouldn’t be much of an issue because I clean her tray twice a day. Thank you for the suggestion.

I still may try these… I really do prefer paper pellet litter for her as there’s no issue of scent.

Thank you. I do use the screen setup already and I love it. It’s such a great system.

Thank you….Their paper pellets are probably the closest I’ll get to what she was using.
I let the bag of Oxbow Eco straw pellets air out a couple days and have been using some of that now. It seems ok as far as I don’t think it is making things worse and the smell has lessened to a degree it’s hardly noticable at all. This really isn’t a b…[Read more]

These were dustier than the brand I used for our previous bunny and so much more potent in the smell. It actually made my eyes water when I opened the bag. I went ahead and tried it since it’s the same brand the Tampa Bay Rabbit Rescue uses and many people here. I truly think there was something wrong with this batch as I’m sure it’s not the norm…[Read more]

Because she was so very young when this started originally, our vets didn’t think it was necessary to do scams of her sinuses and teeth. We did discuss this later but cost ruled it out for us, plus we would have to travel a distance with her. At the time our vet was going to check on cost and a facility, Charlie pretty much finally stopped after c…[Read more]

Hey guys,
I’m in desperate need of your help! I just got a second bunny yesterday, my first was a bit of a rescue and he was already a few months when I go him. However, my new rabbit is just over 7 weeks (I now know that this is frowned upon, so please don’t judge me, I just wasn’t aware) and the breeder I got her from didn’t give me any informa…[Read more]

Bunnies were able to do overnight with a lot of success! Throughout the day yesterday, everyone seemed to be ignoring each other, so I was worried fights would break out tonight when they actually started communicating. Interestingly, it seems like Sage has decided he’s the new top bun and Salem seems to be accepting it? For now at least. There’s…[Read more]
