    Thank you that’s very helpful!

The brother and sister I was interested in were sold so I have more time to consider and continue checking Petfinder. I’m definitely hoping suitable bunnies come up as the cost difference here in NY is massive. I want to get them during the summer since I’m less busy. I’m also concerned about their weight in terms…[Read more]

Since you were hoping to adopt rabbits that were already bonded, getting rabbits from a breeder will likely be challenging and very stressful. Even if they are related, you would still need to house them separately until they are spayed and neutered, and then go through the bonding process with them, with no guarantees it would work out. So it…[Read more]

    Hello,

After over two years since my beloved Holland Lop passed away, I am ready for bunnies. I plan to get two and I live in a small room in a NY apartment, on the fourth floor. So what I am looking for is rabbits small enough to be happy in that size room and light enough to take up and down four flights of stairs, and who are already…[Read more]

Exactly…I always get my animals spayed or nutered but yes it’s so common for people to end up with a male and female 🙄

Hello. I have a 2 year Holland Lop named Jasper that I have had since he was a baby. Since day 1 he was a handful. I’m not sure if I spoiled him or if this is normal behavior. He has a huge 2 story cage, amble space for his zoomies and to jump. He gets out his cage to run free reign each day but I have to follow him because he tries to bite…[Read more]

Oh that’s horrible! I hope that this will give you a bit consolation though. If you didn’t notice any outward signs of illness or changes in behaviour, it probably was something quick and painless like a heart attack or a stroke. These are common in rabbits.

    Binky free, sweet Archie!

How is Daisy doing at this moment by the way? Rabbits who’ve…[Read more]

How big is his litter box? sometimes when a box is too small they will pee next to it.

I would probably just keep it so it’s easy for you until he’s neutered, then you can focus on retraining him. I agree it could just be a losing battle right now.

What an awful way to lose your beloved rabbit 😥 Sadly it’s common for rabbits to pass away seemingly suddenly: they’re very frail animals. We still don’t know what happened to our previous bunny either: even the vet didn’t see it coming. He went over all his medical files and talked it over with his colleagues, but still he couldn’t tell what…[Read more]

This is what’s in our kit. Metacam is prescription-only, but we always buy extra so we have a little on hand if something happens outside office hours. ABs are prescription-only here in NL, so we’ll still have to go to the vet for that.

Ok, so my bunny is 5 months old… will be neutered in august… he was using liter box great until his teenage years started… he kept peeing right next to liter box which happens to be right next to gate of pen. It started with just pee when he went in for the night. So I started putting pee pad down under liter box and next to it. And now he just…[Read more]

He does except he’s drinking a bit more than usual, but so hasn’t Blossom, even with the AC on it’s still kinda warm in my house so I think it might be due to that.

Bam replied to the topic Bunny acting very skittish suddenly in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 1 month ago

As LBJ, hormones can kick in like the flipping of a switch. Baby buns are trusting and curious. Teenage buns are skittish and suspicious, adukt buns are sth in between although more on the suspicious side than the trusting.

Spaying will probably help greatly, but even an animal that is desexed will become an adult.
