That potential residual amount wouldn’t be anything to worry about.

We never found anything that helped our Effi, sadly. Just the NSAiD, the occasional Gabapentin and several supplements (chondroitine, Glucoseaminoglukans, green mussels, msm, rosehip, omega 3 etc).
We decided to let her go after a long week when I could read nothing but pain and bewilderment in her eyes and face. She was a GSD though, so she had…[Read more]

Bunbuns started the topic Bonding new bun with territorial free roam girl in the forum BONDING 4 years ago
I’m wondering if there’s anything I could be doing differently for bonding my two buns on a tight timeline. I have a 3 year old girl (Mooney) who has free roamed for a few years in my living room and I’m trying to bond her with a new 2 year old male (Albus) who we adopted 2 months ago. He has been living in our guest bedroom with a baby gate…[Read more]

Thank you so much, Bam! I really appreciate your advice. Did you ever find anything else for Effi to help with standing and/or moving around? Teddy’s been spending more time lying down (head/shoulders up, back legs down and to the side), I think largely because he gets tired out from the arthritis and sustaining the difficult positions his le…[Read more]

Thank you! I gave her the antibiotics this morning and they were dissolving on my fingers while I was trying to give them to her, so I just washed my hands with soap and water before going to touch his hay, give him treats, and change his litter box in the morning. I assume any amount that would be on my hands after that would not do anything to harm him?

I dont know if a wheelchair would be any good, tbh. When my Effi’s back got really bad we got her a wheel chair. She never managed to use it much, her feet were also pointing at awkward angles and she was dragging one of them. I think wheelchairs are better for dogs that have dggenerative myelopathy, because that only causes weakness, no pain.…[Read more]

So I ended up returning the ExquisiCat litter (thank you, @Lindsayjgunn, for bringing that weird ingredient to my attention!), and I have been using the Fresh News these past few weeks and have had no issues with it. I think it absorbs well and doesn’t smell bad at all, it seems like it’s a pretty close alternative to Yesterday’s News, in my…[Read more]

M&MBunnies started the topic Pron8ure/Protexin/ Probiotics everyday in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years ago
Hi all
I have a bunny very prone to stasis. Only eats hay and some grass. Can’t tolerate veggies or pellets.
I have been giving her Pron8ture (protexin) probiotic oil everyday for 2 months.
Is it ok to give this to her everyday? Will it make her gain weight? Are there any side effects of giving this to her daily?
Thanks

Hi AnnMarie003!
Not all rabbits spray. If your bun is going in his box, it’s fine not to have him neutered. Male rabbits can get testicular csncer, but it’s not very common and tends to occur in very old males.
Your could however start spraying (and poop marking) at any time, even after some years, and if he does, there’s pretty much nothing you…[Read more]

I just got a new Bunny, basically hes a rescue. I have no idea how old he is and I did not know that you were supposed to get them nudered. He is litterbox trained. My guess from the information I’ve gathered hes Around 9 months. Are things gonna get bad if I don’t get him neutered, do you have to get all bunnies neutered. I’m very new to this…[Read more]

Hi all
I have a 4.5 year old bun who keeps getting a bad tummy or full on stasis everytime I give her the smallest amount of vegetables.
She currently only eats 3 different kinds of hay and some fresh grass.
I have tried, Bok Choy, parsley, corriander, dill, sweet potato leaves, chicory, fresh Oaten grass, celery leaves.
They have all caused…[Read more]

Yes Maui is completely free roam

He’s lost a bit of weight acording to my vet but nothing drastic … Really hoping it ain’t a tumor.

Hey everyone! Thank you so much again for your help. Teddy’s been mostly pretty stable, and seems to enjoy his daily “spa” sessions (of brushing with a baby brush, cleaning eyes and ears with nontoxic wet wipes, ensuring feet are clean, butt baths or wipes as needed, physical therapy, and massage). We’ve started doing that twice daily as of to…[Read more]

BumbleBun started the topic Can Bunnies Have “Burnt” Wood in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years ago
I want to make my bunnies some homemade wooden toys with safe wood and twine but want to be able to make them look more than just wood. I do wood burning and was wondering if I did some of that for there toys would be okay? For example if I make a wood caterpillar and burn spots to look like eyes, would that be safe for them to still chew on?

I’m very happy but also still a bit in doubt. I’m hoping that this will be the final step in the process. It went very fast, but I also want to put my trust in the expert, that she knows when it’s safe to put them together again.
There were no chasing or aggression behaviours at all while bonding, and only some light mounting. They’ve…[Read more]
