Thanks! I was wondering, and hoping, that’s all it was.  The only info I find about males and hormones is about them spraying. This is just random very tiny drops. I only notice them because his mat is waterproof so they bead up.  I now see my pics didn’t load for some reason.

Thanks so much everyone. The bunnies thoroughly enjoyed their day playing with different toys 🙂 I gave them back their cardboard maze which they haven’t had in a long time, Luna worked so hard on chewing it that I found her passed out inside with her chin resting on one of the doorways.

I asked the vet about the microchip- because I can’t bear the thought of someone out there missing their beloved bunny. She said her machine is older and wouldn’t work well for this, but also that people rarely chip bunnies. She thinks he might have been “released” or escaped a backyard. Her advice was to take him to a shelter and they could c…[Read more]

I have a small hand vacuum for the buns stuff, and I generally use a broom on their enclosure. I also vacuum up hay with my regular vacuum, my long hair is going to cause way more damage than so odd pieces of hay that are easy to remove. For blankets and rugs I shake them out really well, spot vacuum anything left and throw them in the wash. I do…[Read more]

Welcome to the forum! Thank you for rescuing these bunnies. Bam makes a good suggestion. It may been less expensive to have the boys done first. Of course, everyone will eventually need to be spayed/neutered before you can successfully bond them.

Considering his age, I assume he isn’t neutered yet. This may be his hormones starting to kick in.

I agree with Wick. That looks like more than just dry skin. If it’s mites, then you will want to have them identified. Some medications are ineffective against certain types of mites. Yes, both ivermectin and Revolution are considered safe for rabbits. A vet will be able to advise you on an appropriate treatment depending on the mite. Oftentimes…[Read more]

Anything left untreated will naturally get worse — there are very little things in the pet rabbit world that are self-resolving.

Revolution is rabbit-safe; however, as I mention, please do not attempt to self-medicate your rabbit without having them seen by a rabbit-savvy vet to confirm what is actually going on, in addition to receiving…[Read more]

Hello, I am new to this forum and have tried to find the answer before posting this without much luck.  I have a 15 week old male holland lop, Henry.  We have been working through some soft poop and cecotrope issues and believe we have it all figured out.  Then today there was a mark ( I will post a pic) in his tunnel where he sleeps.  There wer…[Read more]

Sorry I meant Revolution. If gone untreated could it be harmful?

Would over the counter ivermectin be safe for rabbits?

    Welcome to Binkybunny!

Before considering how to reliably purchase hay, I encourage you to review the following webpage thoroughly to help inform your decision on whether a pet rabbit is right for you presently: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Deciding_on_a_rabbit

If, after review, you feel a pet rabbit is still a consideration… to your question,…[Read more]

That looks like a pretty dense amount to just be dried skin — I’d have her assessed by a vet. Please do not attempt to self-diagnose/-medicate for skin-related ailments at home, as there are many flea/mite treatments advertised as safe for dogs/cats that are actually toxic/lethal for rabbits.

As a PSA, any medication containing fipronil should…[Read more]

Daisy has a patch of flaky skin on her back. It is about 1″ x 1″. Its just a patch where her skin is flaky and dry. I  heard that it could be skin mites. Could skin mites be seen? Is there a possibility it could just be dry skin?

Hello I’m looking for a suggestion of where I could get a hay box. I really like rabbit101’s meadow box. I like that it has a lot of space and I like that it has the mesh at the bottom for dust to fall through. However I would need to order 2 for my purposes and its EXPENSIVE and I havent even looked at shipping yet. So I’m looking for ideas on…[Read more]

I couldnt say that they’re similar to parrots, rabbits obviously dont have crops, but they do have big cecums, being hind-gut fermenters, and they can get cecal impaction.

My buns have chewed fabric, I’ve had to mend lots of bed linen and also favorite t-shirts etc, using the Japanese boro-technique. But I’ve had no instance of gut impaction,…[Read more]
