@LBJ10, so they are on the ground kept in place be your legs? That might work well for meds with Miu as the she will not be off the ground at all. How do you trim back feet nails though? Thanks!

Hi, we have had happy bunnies in the family for over 17 years, so I’m not new regarding their behaviour and needs. But I’m facing something new at the moment and was wondering if anyone else has been through this and would have suggestions.

Ellie from The Netherlands replied to the topic Three fights today, Molly is frightened of Owen in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years ago
I really really hope that it’s just puberty. Molly seems to struggle with her self-esteem: one moment she acts all confident and she demands grooming, the next she’s a little bundle of nerves.ย She’s been demanding grooming from Owen a lot lately, and I think that she met Owen’s limits today.
The change in behaviour after separating them by a…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Should she be spayed? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years ago
It isn’t too late to spay her. At age 5 though, she likely already has changes in her uterus. Cancer can start forming by age 3 or 4, but it can often take awhile before it progresses. By spaying her now, you are eliminating the possibility that her life being cut short. I’m not trying to scare you. Her developing cancer isn’t a 100% for sure…[Read more]

Rit replied to the topic Pus comes back 2 months after dental surgery! Any hope for the future? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years ago
Hi ,
thanks for your reply. I had trouble logging in, so only reply you now.
Took Fluffy to visit the vet again last Friday, his condition has improved. Vet only found little pus, and she was able to flush them. Will regularly visit the vet every 2 weeks to check, and hope there is improvement.
My vet gave us med honey after the last surgery,…[Read more]

Hi, hello again! So sorry to post so much. I didn’t intend to post this much. ^v^; Anywho! My step mom, mom and grandma tell me not to spay Honeydew because they all say the same thing. They have a bad feeling about spaying her. They think she wouldn’t make it through surgery or that there would be complications since our vet would send her home…[Read more]

I asked my dad once again if I could shake the blankets out. He said “They’re too smelly to do that.” But I put nose to the blankets and they smell only of hay? Now my step mom is like “we can’t wash them anyway because we can’t afford the nonscented stuff.” —_— Thank you all for your help regardless.

There’s nothing that she says she can do. She puts it down to either puberty or a wrong match ๐

Oh I’m so sorry. ๐
I think that Willoughby will be fine since he did get to say goodbye to her at the vets, he knows that she is gone. He very well may have known she was very sick before you did. The fact that he is eating and drinking normally now is a very good sign. It’s normal for him to be a bit more “quiet” than normal, but as long as his…[Read more]

What about just using a slightly deeper box with less litter in it? That way when she does dig it doesn’t make as much of a mess?

Ugh this is disappointing!
I wonder if the transition from the bonder’s house to home was too abrupt? Do you think the bonder could take them back to work with them again?

DanaNM replied to the topic Advice for new rescue bunny! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years ago
LBJ10 gave great tips! I also think he might benefit from having a smaller area that is just his at first. Having a full room to roam in is great, but he may not feel like he has a safe space to retreat to when you enter the room, and he may feel like it’s all his territory that he has to defend.
The main thing is just time and patience! Spend…[Read more]

First, don’t worry! I had to drive my 4 buns almost 3 hours each way to the vet for their vaccines and they all did great.
I line the carriers with a pee pad or a towel and a layer of nice fluffy hay on top. I also brought a baggie of some favorite fresh greens. When we got to the vet the vaccine itself was very fast, so I actually waited with…[Read more]

We will be taking Charlie into Tampa on Thursday to receive her first dose of the RHDV2 vaccine. This is the closest location to us that is offering the vaccine. It will be an hours drive there and another hour back not counting the time we will be at the vets office. Charlie has only spent very short times in a car infrequently when visiting our…[Read more]
