I’d cut back gradually rather than stop unlimited pellets abruptly. Rabbits tend to do better on slow-ish dietary changes than swift ones. Hopefully she will eat more hay now, but she might need some time to adjust to eating and digesting more hay and less pellets.

So this Thursday marks 6months for Luna. Should i just automatically start feeding her 1/4 cup pellets? She still is on and off for eating her hay. Will she start eating her hay when she realizes her pellets aren’t unlimited as they used to be. I’ve picked her up a bigger litter box so she has more room to sit and eat her hay.

Hey!
I find buns generally handle moving pretty well and maybe show signs of stress for a couple days if its their first or second time. I’ve moved my buns many times when I was a student and I always found the key to settling them in is familiarity over anything else.
I would put your buns cage and home base in the location where you want it to…[Read more]

Thank you both for the response, I really do appreciate it. I did just stay with them to make sure nothing escalated I was considering getting the carrier but I tried just petting them together and put a hay pile around and that seemed to get things going in the right direction. They seem to have calmed down and are working it out. Tonight they…[Read more]

I’m sorry BZOO. It sounds like you gave her a good life. It’s hard when you don’t know exactly how old they are.

Maybe something simple like a car ride together? I agree with Wick that it is probably just something they need to work out. It probably doesn’t hurt to facilitate that a little bit.

I was going to ask about pain meds too. They are more likely to eat on their own when their pain in being properly managed. It sounds like she is interested in eating now, so that’s definitely a good sign!

If they are bored, you could see if they enjoy tossing things. Perhaps they do if they were moving the litter box around.
Hard plastic is generally considered safe because it is difficult for a bunny to actually gnaw a piece off. They will scratch the plastic with their teeth, but chunks don’t come off. Popular items include baby keys and baby…[Read more]

We have a free range indoor bunny and will hopefully moving house in a couple of months. Whats the best way to introduce Mr Bun to his new home? He has his cage with litterbox in our lounge but we dont lock him in, its more a central safe spot for him to find treats and keep mess in one spot.
