    How old are they?

I’m a bit concerned they are getting along because they are young and things may fall apart when puberty kicks in (can happen between 4 and 7 months in females).

    Welcome!

Can you describe your housing set-up a bit? In general it’s best to have things arranged so that you don’t have to pick up your bun to let them out for exercise as most rabbits hate being picked up.

Some buns take a long time to warm up. I find it’s best to play “hard to get”. Sit on the floor with the bun but “ignore” them. Read a…[Read more]

Yep, my buns sit like this too when they are about to eat a cecal or eating one. I always compare it to when I sleepily stumble to the toilet in the middle of the night 😆  LOL

So, with bond that I had that broke, I don’t think they were ever truly bonded to begin with. They rarely cuddled and never groomed each other.. so I think it was more of a tolerance that eventually gave out. In that case, one of my rabbits was injured to the point of needing sutures on her lip, so I opted not to try to re-bond them.

    In your…[Read more]

Also I am so gutted about the situation and the possibility of having to give him up that I have been trying to find another bunny that is neutered who looks exactly like him but I can not find one. I know bunnies are not replaceable like that. I don’t want to re-home my bunny but I realize it may be in his best interest for a happier life where…[Read more]

First of all I just wanted to apologize for mentioning breeding. I’ve made a note of that and I wont do it again. I’ve decided I wont use him for breeding it was an idea that I was thinking of at the time. He will just have to live separately and I’ll do my best for him. It doe make things harder when bunnies have to live separately because it…[Read more]

As you know, this is a forum for house rabbits. Discussing intentional breeding goes against forum guidelines. I do understand your frustrations with not being able to find someone to spay and neuter your bunnies. However, suggesting that your boy be used as a stud isn’t going to solve anything. Not only would it be an unpleasant existence for…[Read more]

Yeah, I really hope their bonds are completely broken!  When you had your bond broken, did they never get back to bonded after that??

One thing I forgot to mention before all of this is the day before they had their nails trimmed by us, so maybe that set them off the next day to start fighting?  Other than that, there hasn’t been any change in t…[Read more]

I’m from Macedonia. I’m not in a good situation regarding the online shopping because my mom will literally never give me her card for online shopping and it will get worse when she hears that I want to order something for Mrvica. People in here are so uneducated about rabbits it makes me sick,  even vets don’t have the required knowledge so it…[Read more]

The bunny would have most definitely had underlying health issues. Bunnies don’t get heart attacks easily. Healthy bunnies are quite resilient. They can get scared easily but it wouldn’t bring on a heart attack. The fact your bunny had a heart attack during the night suggests she was already ill. It wasn’t you that caused her heart attack its was…[Read more]

The problem is they are not neutered. In my experience with young male un-neutered bunnies is that once they reach a certain age they become aggressive once there hormones kick in. It will calm down after a while. You may have a issue trying to find a vet to neuter your bunny if you live in the UK.

I find its much easier to bond does than…[Read more]

Bunny Breeding… I know its a subject that is frowned upon. I have noticed there are many many breeders on Pets4Homes too many in fact. I wonder if they have a hard time selling there bunnies because I’m sat here scratching my head wondering why people breed bunnies when there are so many of them widely available and not many people want rabbits.…[Read more]

Dehydration can make bunny pee dark. Sometimes they tip their bowl over, or it gets very warm and the bun forgets to drink. If your bun gets fresh greens, you could serve them freshly rinsed and dripping wet for a while, just so you know he gets enough water in him.

The dark color can also in part be from oxidation taking place after the bun has…[Read more]

Hi, for my bunny I went to the vet when this happened and my vet told me that my poor little bun bun was dehydrated. I then had to monitor the intake of water and had to make sure the urine changed back to a safe color within a week. But bunny should be fine if they get a more water. If not I would go see someone.

It’s a great idea on the pellets by the way. I’ll look into those. I’ve been feeding her the same pellets for 3 years they are called Sweet Meadow Farm all timothy pellets. She hasn’t had any switch in diet that’s coincided with this. Sometimes this problem isn’t there at all and I don’t notice the urine smell for weeks/months.

    One thing that…[Read more]
