Sounds wonderful Dana!
It’s very sad when you have a sick bunny and they become suspicious of you. Spending quality time like this is so precious!

Yes, November is the month for books, blankets and bunnies!
Snöa looks so regal in that pic, she’s gorgeous 🥰
Molly always looks sassy when she looks at the camera, as if she’s trying to say: “Honey, I’m too glam to give a d*mn!”.

Just did a full 15 min light treatment on each of Bun’s hips (both his back legs are splayed) and he seemed to really like it. I petted him during and he was super relaxed and even tooth purred a little. He groomed his face after and then hopped over to chew on a palm plate.

Whether it works or not it’s at least nic…[Read more] -

Yes, agree with Wick&Fable. Rabbits are very territorial so they will almost always fight when you introduce them near their home turf or in an area they spend time.
You are on track to bond them though, since you got them neutered. The link shared above gives a great over view of the bonding process. Basically you will want to start by locating…[Read more]

So, Bertha was bonded with 3 dif buns in her life (poor gal was widowed a few times). First was Bunston (the little brown buy in my avatar). They were my first pair I bonded and it was ROUGH. I almost gave up several times. Bunston was a very feisty little guy (had some dwarf in him for sure) but was also very afraid of her. She ended up being top…[Read more]

I recommend stopping all bonding attempts until you review and better understand the general bonding methods for rabbits: https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/bonding/
You should not be letting them meet for bonding sessions in the living room, which is space they have both been in (i.e., not neutral). Rabbits are very territorial animals, so when…[Read more]

The only neutral space I have right now is about 1.5 xpen worth of bathroom floor space, definitely no more than 2. I think my options are either I ask my friend to use her place – everywhere would be neutral but space wise realistically it would have to be her guest bathroom OR, my grandma will be away for 6 months at the beginning of January so…[Read more]

They have been neutered about 6 weeks. What do you mean by method?? We introduce them in the livingroom where their cages are.

DanaNM replied to the topic Freya & Tybalt Bonding Journal in the forum BONDING 3 years, 8 months ago
That’s a very interesting method! I’m a bit surprised she would separate them when they scuffled. That is basically teaching them that fighting will make the other rabbit go away, so it could have been reinforcing the scuffling. Everyone has their own ways of bonding so to each their own, but that’s not the way I would do it!
I think you should…[Read more]

Just did a first short treatment! He seemed very relaxed during it. I also recently learned about the “grimace scale” for rabbits through that facebook group which has been really helpful in assessing his comfort level. His nose looked especially relaxed during the treatment. Here are two versions of the scales for…[Read more]

If it were me, I wouldn’t feed cabbage either. If your bunny just has pellets to eat for a day, it won’t be the end of the world. Spread them out thoughout the day and give a little extra. Keep an eye out for any signs of upset. Some bunnies are more sensitive than others.

Oh, that sounds interesting. You’ll definitely have to let us know if it works. I think that would be helpful information to have.

Yes, we are going to need more information. How long have they been neutered? And what methods are you currently using?
-
Wick & Fable replied to the topic 2 Male Bunnies Still Fighting After Castration in the forum BONDING 3 years, 8 months ago
How long have they been neutered for, and where are you introducing them? Bonding is a process that often takes a couple weeks to months and generally starts with short dates in smaller, neutral territory, and then over time making the dates longer and neutral space bigger as they safely figure out a hierarchy.
