If he’s not showing signs of acute distress, Id leave him to figure it out himself while I observe from a distance. Intervention could cause him to panic and perhaps hurt himself.
Rabbits are naturally inclined to get themselves into really small, narrow places, most likely because they are burrowers and feel safe in whatever resembles a…[Read more]

Thank you, Ellie! I watched this docu when it aired on our national tv, and I so wanted to watch it again but it was only available on BBC. It’s great that it’s now available on YT! It really is wonderfully interesting.

Yes, I’m the weirdo with the meat injector syringe. LOL It is a larger syringe, so it really just depends on your preferences. I liked it because the seal for the plunger was really good on it and it was easier to load.

I don’t think you can go wrong with the willow wreaths with foliage! I’m glad it worked out in the end.

thanks so much guys. and thank you for the recommendations, i will absolutely check these out. those 6 ml monoject syrings looks like they might work good. i have tried filling from the back. what happened with the syringes i had, is that the cc gets gunked/caught up, and i’ll press and nothing will come out, then all of a sudden a large amount…[Read more]

Great! My buns LOVE those willow wreathes. A tip someone recommended is to separate it into individual strands if you want it to last longer… my buns will devour a whole one in a few minutes so sometimes I separate them to spread out the fun over more days!

How are you filling the syringes? I load them from the back, rather than trying to suck up the CC. If you are using a larger syringe (like 6 – 10 mL), use a spoon to push the food into the back of the syringe (I aim for pancake batter consistency). If you are using 1 mL syringes, use a larger syringe to fill them from the back.
For larger…[Read more]

Wick & Fable provided a link. I was just trying to get a better idea of what you are doing for these bonding sessions. If they aren’t occurring in neutral territory, then that may be the issue.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with having a continuous supply of willow or apple sticks.

Some people have better luck with small syringes, others have better luck with large syringes. I have an old meat injector syringe that I used. I just took the needle out of it.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong then. Because I can’t get it to feed out of any syringe I’ve purchased, I’ve had both 1ml and 5ml ones.

I’ve never had problems with any plastic feeding syringe. Even 1ml ones I don’t have issues stuffing critical care though I usually use a tiny bit larger like 5; I have dwarf buns so i don’t like the big ones. No tips needed.

Hello. I’ve been trying for so long to find a feeding syringe that I can use with critical care. I have purchased so many different types from many different places (local feed stores, online places like walmart). I have also gotten them from the local pharmacy. Nothing has worked for me for critical care; it gunks up inside of it, or by the time…[Read more]
