Hello apologies for double posting however I’m trying my best to continue replying to one of the mods since I can’t comment under my post anymore, however if this works then for the topic under tech issues, my reply to the mods is I still can’t message back without my screen saying it’s critical error still 🙁

my reply to the mods under my “Bon…[Read more]

on feb 13th we visited the vet who recommended that i go down on pellets & start feeding leafy greens for additional fiber because i explained to her how he was being fed grain based pellets that are too high in protein & too low in fiber which i thought messed with his digestion & were causing him to produce extra cecotropes & those rounded but…[Read more]

Some rabbits do need to be on lifelong antibiotics esp for respiratiory infections caused by pasteurella. Some rabbits are prone to chronic pasteurella, the cause for this is believed to have a strong genetic component.

Did you see any improvement while your bun was on Baytril?

I’ve told him I’m past visits that his breathing is labored and he himself had heard the sounds. He said that he would probably resort to antiobiotics if it’s bacterial, so we did that and after the treatmeant he was still vocal. After that, he said that he’s probably just like that and that some rabbits have breathing like that. It kind of felt…[Read more]

Thank you so so much, LBJ and Bam!  I so appreciate your kind words, and I’m sure Teddy does too. ❤

And I can never convey how grateful I am for your many years of wise advice — you are a big reason why Athena and Teddy’s lives were as long and healthy as they were!  I just saved each of my 59 topics to PDF so that I’ll always have a local c…[Read more]

Yes, exactly.  I’m guessing that when a pending reply shows up on the admin side, they appear to us users as “This post is awaiting moderation.”  But my partner never gets to even that point.  It just says, “There has been a critical error on this website.”

I just Googled and apparently there’s a tutorial here?  http://www.wpbeginner [dot] com…[Read more]

Some progress… she grooms him now and he grooms her. They tolerated each other until bedtime. Shared a litter no issues, ate next to each other and had some water. Then he tried to mount her again when the lights went out and the chasing started up. Had to separate them as he was getting too aggressive. Try removing the fence between them in the m…[Read more]

I don’t see any pending replies on the admin side. Whatever is going on, it appears they aren’t going through at all.

Thanks, Bam!  I just came on here to say the same thing — my partner has actually been trying to post a thank-you and it’s still giving him a “critical error” every time, on every device and browser he’s tried, over the past couple days.  His is a new account, which he did activate, but is it perhaps still pending approval or something?  His us…[Read more]

Interesting! I will ask him about this when we talk again on Monday. Sounds like Pen G injections may be the way to go since it covers  either of the possibilities. I agree with your thought that  the Baytril might only be controlling and not strong enough.

He did briefly talk about Pen G as the traditional treatment for syphilis. He said the e…[Read more]

Did you do any pre-bonding with them?  How long have you had each bunny?

If they were separated overnight then it wasn’t truly 24 hrs straight. It might actually be better to put them back in their home enclosures overnight, so they don’t try to claim the neutral space while they are separated (it will also give them a break… bonding is…[Read more]

Bunnies dig in the dirt all the time so I really doubt that was the issue.

I would tell the vet his breathing seems labored, just as you told us here. There are multiple things that can cause this, so it’s really up to the vet to diagnose, but one possibility is a respirator infection. If you don’t want to just try a general antibiotic you can…[Read more]

If it is pasteurella, has the vet considered that maybe the Baytril isn’t effective enough. Maybe it just keeps it a bay, but then the bacteria builds back up once the Baytril isn’t in her system anymore. The typical treatment for syphilis is pen G shots. Pen G can also be used for chronic pasteurella infections. Just some thoughts.

I’ve got some clarity on all the confusion. It was as I had figured that her vet mistakenly thought he called and left me a lengthy message, but left it on somebody else’s phone instead.
He decided to do research on her symptoms after our office visit on Thursday. Then he called an exotic specialist that he says he has very high regards for to con…[Read more]
