Thanks for your perspective. I’ll be getting a stuffy and try and resist the 4th as long as possible. I do spend at least a couple hours a day down with them so hopefully that is enough.

Yeah, I don’t think fostering is for me, I don’t like the idea that they may go somewhere where they don’t have as much as I give them.  lol. I think I could…[Read more]

As for glaucoma in buns, one of our old members (Asriel&Bombur) use latanaprost eyedrops for her ec bun who has cataracts that lead to glaucoma. They do the job, he gets 2 drops twice per day and his pressure is down from 40 to 25 (should ideally be 20).

Most things buns ingest do pass through because they chew their food (and non food) into very fine bits. They can swallow big chunks of things like dogs do.

If he’s eating and drinking and acting normal tomorrow as well I think he’s out of the woods. Most buns do get into non-food items now and then and there’s rarely a problem. But you can of…[Read more]

Hi everyone. Tonight before I went to bed, I saw a pile of something under my bed. I found that a piece of my comforter was hanging down from my bed and my bunny had chewed a hole in the comforter and pulled out a large chunk of the stuffing fibers. It looked like some was missing, so I’m sure he probably ingested some. He is free roam in my r…[Read more]

If you have a large freezer, then yes. The hay would need to be super dry though.

Yes, a nebulizer is generally considered safe. There are others on the forum that have used them for their bunnies.

Was he being treated for EC otherwise? What were the antibiotic drops for exactly? Did the vet think he had a secondary infection? Antibiotics aren’t going to do anything for cataracts. There are drops that are used for dogs…[Read more]

hahah I’m the queen of foster fails, so I get that. I think if he has a stuffy and can see the other buns, he will be just fine, especially if you can spend some time with him each day.

Hay is the absolute best pre-biotic for buns. Pre-biotics is food for the desireable gut microbes. Its important for humans, but its way more important for buns. Humans break down food with the aid of various enzymes as well as microbes, rabbits are pretty much totally reliant on microbes.

Thank you, I’m trying not to be hard on myself. I could have put them in smaller areas and refereed them, and kept trying other things, but my gut was saying it’s not worth the added stress. I do think Maxwell and Ruby have a difficult bond for a third to enter into due to their super closeness, and Maxwell is generally difficult, lol.. they may…[Read more]
