DanaNM replied to the topic Advice for 16 wk old buck & 8 wk doe bonding in the forum BONDING 6 years, 5 months ago
Hi there, welcome and congrats on your new bunnies! Beau is adorable. 🙂
It will be best for you to wait until both bunnies are neutered and spayed (and hormones have settled) to work on bonding them. Babies do get along, but they do not truly bond, and fights often break out once hormones kick in.
Bunnies are very good at reproducing (hence the…[Read more]

Hi! After adding Beau to my family recently and doing a bunch of research (it has been quite a few years since I’ve had a rabbit), I decided it would be best for him to adopt a second bun in anticipation of going back to the office soon. After even doing more research, I decided to adopt a female, and she will be ready to pick up next month, when…[Read more]

An angel! Thank you, that’s going above and beyond, so THANK YOU!
I didn’t think of seeds; I’ll pick up up both kinds you mentioned because if Mabel doesn’t eat them, I sure will!
I’ll also check her feet for signs of calluses and sore hocks. This is my second senior rabbit but so far, it’s slightly different experiences!

Here is the thread I made for Podge when he’d had his first stroke:Â https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/vibes-for-podge-please/
I have contacted Gina.Jenny about you, and hopefully she’ll reactivate her BB account, so she can read about your girl and maybe share bits of her experience with Podge.

Hi there, welcome!
I also have a humpy grandpa bunny so I feel your pain! But with your guy the sudden change sounds like it could be an adrenal gland issue or potentially bladder stones. Crystals in the bladder can trigger humping, the forum leader’s bunny Jack experienced this, you can read about it here: https://binkybunny.com/bunnyinfo/jacks-d…[Read more]

Hi guys, My little lionhead Ben will be 12 years old in a couple of months. We had him neutered when he was young and he’s been a free roam indoor rabbit all his life. Really well litter trained etc and never any issues with jumping. He has a girl with him for 4 years who we lost about a year ago and he’s been absolutely fine. However, a few mon…[Read more]

Can you do some kind of double separater? Like two x pens but keep them a foot apart so no funny business can happen… That way they could still see and smell each other. That might not be possible but it might help with your boy’s separation anxiety if you can!

DanaNM replied to the topic Looking for advice on a trio bond that we've been working on for a year in the forum BONDING 6 years, 5 months ago
OK this is helpful. I would try a car ride! Get a helper and a plastic tub. Fill the tub with a fluffy hay layer. Have the helper drive, get the car running and ready to go. Plop the buns in the bin and take them for a drive. You sit in the back seat and stop any biting. You can pet them if needed. I would do like some 10-20 min car rides a few…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Not eating hay in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 5 months ago
Sounds like you have a good plan. Hopefully reducing the sugary treats will boost her appetite for hay.
It sounds like your vet is experienced with rabbits, but just want to add that the back molars cannot be viewed fully without anesthesia (there are 28 molars in that tiny mouth!). The front teeth can usually be trimmed without anesthesia, so if…[Read more]

I hope you saw my message to you. I accidentally deleted your post in an old thread. So Ive made this new one for you to address what is going on with Fizzy.
How long has it been since you stopped treating Fizzy for the ear infection? How long was the treatment? Its possible it has not fully resolved.
Im sorry about the t…[Read more]

You can also turn him over and see if his testicles dropped. It usually happens between 3-4 months. Rabbits also hump for dominance, but DanaNM is right, best safe than sorry. I have a 3 month old Holland lop myself. I checked this morning and his boys have still not descended. Some vets will neuter just as soon as they do.
