His breed is known as Cutie Patootie. 😉
Seriously though, I couldnt say his exact breed but he definitely had some dwarf-like traits. The roundedness in his face for example. He could be a “false dwarf” – this is a netherland dwarf that didnt inherited the dwarf gene from one of its ND parents. So while they are still ND’s they will often have…[Read more]

Hello, i rescued my first rabbit about 3 months ago and am very curious about what breed he is. He is a fully grown adult rabbit and weights just over 3 pounds. Any advice would be amazing, thank you 🙂

While it can be more difficult, unneutered rabbits can be litter trained.
What is his current set up? What litter are you using? From the sounds of it I would likely agree with your mam, having an animal peeing everywhere really isn’t okay.
Rabbits cope pretty well with living outdoors in lower temperatures as long as it isnt a huge /sudden…[Read more]

I’m so sorry to hear this, Bubbles! You’re right that he’s safer inside. If it helps, you could show your family this page on the dangers of making a bunny live outside in a hutch: https://rabbit.org/faq-rabbits-outdoors/
How old is your bunny? If he’s not old enough to get neutered yet, he should soon. You can find details on litter tr…[Read more]

Yeah he is a little one eared wonder!
We dont know what happened it to be honest, I like to hope mammy bun just got a bit overzealous when cleaning him. To be honest he prefers to use that ear for listening, so really if you asked him that’s his good ear!
It annoys him a bit, because he cant get at it properly to clean it, and it gets dry skin…[Read more]

I’m glad you had it looked at!
Keep keeping a close eye. If she keeps licking her paw, that in itself could cause more trouble, because skin that is always wet, cant function properly as a barrier. Funghi and bacteria “like” wet skin.
If things get worse, or if this is still bothering her in a week, I think you should have it seen again. She may…[Read more]

@Hazel, im sorry I’m late coming back to what you shared about Bubbles & Mosby. I got so distracted by the mystery of the disappearing post that I never addressed it’s content once it was back!

Lol! Definitely B’s here.
That one Qu: who washes more?
I have to say, this self isolation business has turned me into a slob. I sadly cannot go more then 2 days without washing my hair normally. But as hardly anyone is is seeing what a disgrace it is, the time between washes has extended. Some days I just wear a big wide cloth headband to h…[Read more]

She’s 1.5 yrs, free roam, spayed. She’s never really been affectionate and giving kisses, but lately she always hides under the bed or under furniture. 1 time she sits in the open (her favorite spot), then I try to pet her, she immediately hops off and go under the bed again.
I’m really worried. She drinks water, poops, even though some poops are…[Read more]

Hi there,
My family wants to buy a hut for my rabbit to sleep outside. This is because he pees and poo’s everywhere and I always clean it up. I’ve tried litter training him but with research I found that it is best to wait for him to reach the proper age for neutering before litter training as that will ease his territorial feelings.
As for him…[Read more]

Or biting Wick… don’t forget the biting. LOL OK, maybe it’s more of a nip.
I agree with Wick. Each individual is going to be different. The vast majority of rabbits do not *like* being held. I do believe it is important to get them to the point where they somewhat tolerate it. After all, there are some things that just require them being…[Read more]

What about a simple “no”? 😉
Hmm… when redirecting, have you tried a fleece blanket? Normally, it isn’t good to offer other “clothing” in place of the clothing… but considering she’s so insistent on chewing on your clothing, perhaps it’s better to just give her a stand-in.

Hi Beau Bunny! Since this is a very old thread it would be best to start a new thread. But since the info is already here, I will add that the rescue I volunteer at says citrus twigs are safe. Loquat twigs are also safe (a tropical fruit tree you might have in Florida?). Common edible weeds are narrow and broad leaf plantain, mallow, sow thistle,…[Read more]

Hi fellow Floridian and Bun parent!
I was about to create a post regarding this. Unfortunately there isn’t really a solid resource out there on edible wilds for bunnies, so I start with human safe greens to forage because according to the house rabbit society website: if it’s safe for humans it’s safe for buns.
Here is what I have so far that is…[Read more]

Hi all, thank you for the concern.
The vet said that her paw looks fine and she’s probably just pulled the fur out herself. She said that coco didn’t react when she touched the paw, so it mustn’t be painful.
I have noticed that after the vet visit she has been biting the paw more, so she does seem to be a bit bothered by it, but it isn’t affecti…[Read more]
