Wilburbunny replied to the topic how did you convince your parents to get a bun? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 4 months ago
Don’t wait until you find another bun you really like because your parents will probably need more of a heads up. Unless your parents are very different then mine were, I would start get the idea in their heads. Plus, this will show your parents that you really have put in the time, effort and are really dedicated to getting this bun. You d…[Read more]

Just a quick note first: the subject of intentional breeding is not allowed for discussion on the forum. Please see our Forum Rules and guideline for more in this.
The humping behaviour will probably continue and the younger one could start doing it also as she matured. They might trigger some pseudo-pregnancy in each other aka false…[Read more]

Hi Koala,
Spaying is actually recommended not only to improve behaviours like mounting and litter habits, but because it greatly reduces the very high incidence of reproductive cancers in rabbits (especially in females).
Also, you may not be aware of this yet, but on this forum we do not condone breeding or discussions about intentional breeding…[Read more]

They won’t stop if you keep them intact. They may not even stop if they get de-sexed late, because by then it has become a habit. The intensity in the jumping can decrease with age, but they wont form a reliable bond.
Discussions about intentional breeding are prohibited by the forum’s rules, so I won’t go into that. If you are intent on keeping…[Read more]

Is the fur on his back thinning all over, or complete bald patches? Any specific areas? Does the fur grow back at all?
Did they check testicular tissue with ultrasound also?
Ultrasound can be limited in how much they can see, but it’s a start. I wonder if he has changed in adrenal glands. Some of the symptoms sound similar to Addison’s dis…[Read more]

To be honest with you, at this point I will definitely prefer an EC infection rather than any other thing, at least he is already following the treatment and with the given time, he might improve. Anyway, tomorrow I have an appointment with the vet and I will probably discuss to do a pcr test to find out if he has it, just to be certain that we…[Read more]

Will she ever stop her behavior of humping or will it continue? I don’t plan on spaying her because I might want to breed her later on

They are doing much better then when they originally began the bonding process. They lay next to each other but still have their moments here and there. It seems one of them (Moaxie), is fine with not being the dominant partner and is quite tolerant of Misty’s actions. Misty will show good signs towards Moaxie but then will try to nip her and h…[Read more]

Have you tried willow hide outs? My buns go crazy for them. They also love cat beds and cat cubbies. Mine also love any kind of basket (make sure there’s no finish on them) I made them a little teepee out of a basket and fleece.
