So glad she got a trim! I hope things will get better now. 🙂  It might be worth keeping her on the pain meds for a couple of days to get her to start eating as soon as possible.

That sounds normal. The cloudiness is from the calcium they pass in the urine. The one can also look darker, especially after it’s been exposed to the air for a while.

Personally I’ve always felt that it’s not really worth putting my rabbits through all that stress to try to get them used to it (if you had one that isn’t horribly opposed to it to begin with it might be different). For practical reasons like clipping nails or taking them to the vet I think it’s much easier and less stressful for the rabbit to…[Read more]

Some buns’ prefer to be held close to your heart for comfort, with the awareness that you’re there, maybe? Is your bun an energetic bunny? I hold my bunnies on my lap and pet them. Sometimes I put a pee pad down on a bed and lay down beside them, although, that doesn’t work when they’re in a hipper mood! 😀

    Good luck!

I’m so, sorry! I know how difficult loss can be with your beloved bun. She would probably want you to have a new friend, again, so sorry!

I’m not sure about certain foods nor about lots of different rabbit urine colors, but orange urine seems normal, my rabbit’s urine is usually a darker yellow or orange.

It’s not. That’s my theory anyway.

(I’ve been watching too much Dark lately, all that time travelling is very confusing 😛 )

Have you done any pre bonding (switching toys, litter boxes, enclosures between them)? There should be several weeks of pre bonding before any face to face meetings. Flat ears are a sign of aggression, putting their tail up is as well. It sounds like Willow is expecting an attack when being chased, it’s not play. I doubt Clover is being playful e…[Read more]

I smiled at your statements about not being able to use your kitchen or bathroom, because we’ve literally had bunnies take over both our kitchen and bathroom for days on end during bonding. We would just step over them and shift their pen to be smaller when we needed to use the toiler, shower, etc. I slept on the floor in the hallway lol. Not…[Read more]

I got my rabbit about a month ago too! Several questions for you. Is your rabbit spayed? Spaying your rabbit will help with behavior, litter training, and prevents cancer. Second, is your rabbit in a cage, or in a pen? Keeping a rabbit in a cage is definitely not enough space and can make them unhappy. If your rabbit is spayed, litter training her…[Read more]

Hi! I have a rabbit that we just recently caught that was abandoned in our backyard. So I don’t know much about it. I’m assuming it’s a girl (not sure if that’s relevant but I thought I’d include it)

Anyways, since we’ve had her, her urine is an orange-ish color. Could it be blood? It’s also kind of cloudy white sometimes. I fed her a few carrots…[Read more]

I’m not in the area but that’s still probably a good thing to find out. Thank you!

    Hello,

We just got a bunny about a month ago. She was a year and a half old when coming to our house. She went from having a lot of room to run around and go to the bathroom wherever she wants 24/7 to her cage and a littler box (besides when we have her out of course). Right now she has peed in her littler box once we put it in an area where she…[Read more]

The issue with the neutral territory is that it’s outside on the balcony, so I don’t think I can safely leave them there for 24-48 hours. Unsure about weather… and bugs… I don’t think there’s any risk of predatory birds swooping at an angle to get onto the balcony, but call me paranoid in not wanting to leave them outside over night, ah!! The…[Read more]

Some buns will try to chew them, others leave them alone. Mine chew them.

I use a piece of plywood covered with peel and stick tiles as the base flooring for my buns condo.

Some buns like to be able to see out of their hideouts. My local rescue uses laundry baskets with holes cut out and sanded down. The bunnies really like them because they feel protected but can see what’s going on around them. 🙂

Grooming is a very good sign. 🙂 Their mouths can be sore so she might not want to eat solids right away. You can offer some CC mixed with a little banana or canned pumpkin to see if she will eat it on her own as well. Plus lots of cilantro is usually very popular. 🙂

    hi 🙂

How long have their sessions been in neutral? I’ve usually kept mine together for 24-48 hrs at least in neutral before moving to semi-neutral. So my sense is that maybe they need to be more cemented in neutral? In my most recent pairs I’ve honestly skipped semi-neutral and done several days in neutral, then just moved them home (into a…[Read more]
