I calculate the current dose of metacam to be 0.45 mg per kilo body weight.
3.3 pounds = 1.5 kilos
0.45 ml × 1.5 mg/ml = 0.675 mg
0.675 mg/1.5 kilos= 0.45 mg/kilo
She could have more metacam. Max dose as stated by Medirabbit is 1.5 mg/kilo body weight, once or twice per day. When my bun was ill last fall he had 0.5 ml of 1.5 mg/ml metacam…[Read more]

The vet got him to take his medicine! Wilbur definitely put up a fight, the vet was trying to do the C Grip method but Wilbur would just not stop squirming but then she picked him up and held him in place while the vet tech squirted the meds into his mouth. She held him almost like a football with his feet dangling so he couldn’t push off. I’m goi…[Read more]

The pen they were in for night time sleeps (prior to this bathroom arrangement) was a somewhat “neutral” pen in the living room. There are carpet squares on top of the carpeted floor and there are blankets and towels on all sides so they couldn’t see the outside. They would sleep there with a divider at night. That being said, definitely doesn’t…[Read more]

Are some of the bumps nipples? If shes a female, it is natural for her to have some pairs on nipples under there.
Re: bumps coming and going, are they popping and have liquid or is it that you sometimes can and cannot find them in certain locations?

Hello everyone,
sorry if it seems like I ramble, but I have a couple of related question. My rabbit Reece’s is 3 years old. I am going to get her spayed soon now that Covid-19 is less of a worry. I am concerned though because she has lumps all over her stomach area. They don’t seem to hurt her at all and I notices that over the last few mon…[Read more]

Unless something has been discovered that I’m unaware of, simethicone is virtually harmless to give to rabbits… I honestly have used it as a treat a two or three times when I groomed one of my rabbits and realize I am out of treats for them, because they both love it so much…. if you worry tummy rubs are harmful, simethicone is a safe bet if…[Read more]

Just popping to say I think you are on the right track also. Totally agree with Dana that more time in neutral territory was needed. I think you’ll find when you then move them to a shared space there would be fewer set-backs.
Would you have space in living room area to set up a neutral pen? You would need to lay down something over the floor (…[Read more]

One of my rabbits – never
The other rabbit – from the very beginning. I adopted her and the next day I needed to get a new laptop charger. It took 2 seconds flat.
…. some rabbits have their specific habits, and generally thin strand objects like wires, rope, etc. are very appealing for rabbits. It’s great that she has not shown interest.…[Read more]

The flooring might be it. A way to check is throw down a sheet/ blanket or carpet mat outside of his hutch. If he comes right out, you’d have your answer.

Well she’s in good hands if you are poop monitoring!
Us rabbit people probably seem pretty strange how much we check them. 😄

I dont know about spooked but I dontcarry him, the shed is in the garden so he can just walk out his hutch into the shed and out into the fenced off garden
We put a new flooring down so I dont know if he just doesnt like that or not
I dont think it would since we could technically just still use the dogs, I imagine it would be about the…

No problem! I could have deleted the other one but it had some additional details so I left it up. 😉
Okay- that’s odd that he doesn’t want to come out when it’s at the same level. You mentioned the garage in the other thread. Is he alright running around there in once you get him out or do you carry him to the garden? Could he have been spooke…[Read more]

With the separate xpen in the space, there will likely need to be a barrier as well so they wouldn’t try to nip each other through the pen wall, so keep that in mind!

The cuddling and grooming is all one-sided. Fable grooms Wick often and will purposely lounge or sit next to him. She will nuzzle her snout under or near him for grooms. Wick doesn’t mind it in the neutral space, but he doesn’t reciprocate. He does request grooms sometimes, but never does anything himself. He may go up to sniff her calmly and…[Read more]

Sable is such a beauty! Very sweet and sensitive girl too.
I’m actually also fostering a very similar looking bunny, Bonnie, who we may end up adopting and trying for a trio (apparently she gets along great with other bunnies)… she kind of just stole my heart. She had been in the shelter for like 3 years, was very scared and had gotten somewhat…[Read more]

Hunny has another vet appointment scheduled for this coming Monday. I’m so scared and upset right now. We were only allowed to speak to a tech, and he didn’t seem to really support the baby food/simethicone ideas. I didn’t hear his exact words, just what my mother told me. Please pray for my baby.

Haha good to know about the spaying persuasion! And yes she’s so young they have plenty of time.
Yep if they are OK with you setting up her pen and are very aware of risks Wick mentioned, sounds OK to me. Some bunnies (esp females) get super mad when another comes into their house, other’s don’t mind too much. Usually they get used to it after a…[Read more]
