I’m so sorry she’s having so much trouble with gas right now. Try to get her to hop around regularly, movement can help. I really wish your family would give the Simethicone a try, gas is very painful and I know you hate seeing her like that. 🙁

Gas does make a lot of sense, both because it can be intermittent and can cause a lot of pain. It is so hard to watch. 🙁

Def check with the vet about a refill, and potentially stronger prescription for metacam, and also ask if it’s OK for you to split the dose and give every 12 hours.

Hmmm, to me the fact that she goes back and forth between eating normally and not makes me think it is pain related? Do you notice a relationship with how long it’s been since her pain meds? The video of her chewing is weird for sure… it’s just so curious that she is switching on and off with eating normally.

Agree with Dana, as long as she keeps improving there’s no need to put her through any invasive procedures. The additional stress could cause a setback. Going by your last couple of posts I think she’s coming along very well! 🙂

I offer Hunny fresh water whenever I can from a dish. Sometimes she drinks from it like a dehydrated camel, other times she wants no part of it. That’s great! It’s so much less stressful when you can get meds into them without force!

I remember one med that I had to give a very sick bun and the vet had compounded it to taste so good that he nearly yanked the syringe out of my hand!

Before you try the straight banana, try mashing some some into the critical care as a mush and see if she will eat that off a spoon or a plate.

Not seeing as much pee means she may be a bit dehydrated, so try to encourage water drinking (check out my post about hay tea above in the thread).
