I took my rabbits to the vet for neutering last week. I went to the vet to take them home and saw that the vet put on a E-collar for the buns. She said that both buns were aggressive biter so they had to make them wear the collar. I took them home, buns were finally free from the collar but I noticed scale like patch on ones ears. It didn’t look…[Read more]

The furminator is a pretty harsh grooming tool, they have all kinds of warnings about not going over the same area twice, etc. The bald patches should grow back but keep an eye on the broken skin to make sure it heals without issues.

I would switch to a different tool. Hand plucking the tufts, rubber mitt type brushes, sticky lint rollers, and…[Read more]

Objectively, if they are all housed separately and cannot touch each other (gaps in between pens), then it is safe. You will want to observe how each rabbit reacts though. None of them may care or one/some/all of them may become stressed due to the new rabbit being there.

Yes, once the male is neutered and given at least 1-2 weeks to recover…[Read more]

That is indeed a lot of fur, and definitely in the realm of what can come off a rabbit with how much fur they lose during a molt, for example.

Is your rabbit an unspayed female perchance? Is there a chance she is nesting due to experiencing a false pregnancy?

If this does not apply, I would recommend grooming her much more often. If this is the…[Read more]

I had a bun that slept at the foot end of my bed. He never peed in it, which is why I could let him sleep there. He did however leave a few stray poops there. And he chewed many, many holes in the bed linen. It was all cotton and he didnt eat the fabric, but he of course ruined many bed sheets and duvet-covers. Weirdly enough, he never sunk his…[Read more]

Any bond that may come between a young rabbit to another rabbit, regardless of that other rabbit’s age, may be seen as temporary. By young rabbit, I mean one who is has not reached an appropriate age to be neutered/spayed. Rabbit bonds established before hormones develop likely to suddenly change once hormones come in, making that rabbit act on…[Read more]

    Hi, everyone.

I was just grooming my bunny, and noticed that I have accidently scratched her skin with my new FURminator. It started bleeding a little, and I feel bad. You all know the feeling. Binki is underweight, and I think that is due to her sore hocks. She has been eating well, (I even raised her pellet amount), but she is still very…[Read more]
