I removed everything left only the litter box and bowles with water and food. Still he is pissing all over the cage. And by that I mean he poops on the plastic and today he took all the hay from the carrier sit on it and peed in the corner of his cage straight into the bowl with food. I don’t understand what does that mean. Rabbits supposed to b…[Read more]

She isn’t – embarrassed to say none of mine are rescues 😳
Although Mylo is the only one I have had since a kit.The other two are retired show rabbits.
summer is from Old Garden House Rabbitry. She was a forma bunny model ☺️ But I rehomed her as I wanted a black harli and the lady at Old Garden House Rabbitry said I could take her. Glad I did a…[Read more]

I have a really big problem with teaching Bruce to use the litter box. I’m waiting for the neutering on 25th but until this date it’s only getting worse everyday. In his cage I left only litter box and bowls with food and water. Despite of having plastic all over he’s pooping only outside the litter box and today he took all the hay from the carri…[Read more]

I use yesterdays news, no urine smell… I do get the fresh poo smell, if it’s bugging me I just scoop them out. That said his urine doesn’t seem to have a strong smell at all.

Size doesn’t seem to matter much to them. Lily is 7lbs, Mosby is 15lbs. I know Oscar would have no trouble putting either in his/her place if he deemed it necessary. 🙂

prince dorian the bun replied to the topic When did your bunny start chewing wires? in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 4 months ago
@Kathy you can get tubing to cover the wires in. If you google “split wire loom tubing” you should see some examples, though there are other options too. I haven’t done much myself as I just fenced off the area with the wires

So many cute buns!! this thread is a nice pick me up 😀
@Hazel I totally missed your post asking about Dorian’s size. I have just under 4lbs in my head… but probably should reweigh him! (just checked his records from his last weigh in and he was 1.53kg… so just over 3lbs) I was worried about him and a cat given how he’d be a lot smaller, so…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Safe glue for bunnies? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 6 years, 4 months ago
I’ve read online that the plain white Elmer’s glue is safe to use. Unsure how effective it will be in sticking with the floor. If you want something very durable, would some velcro strips along the edges be sturdy enough? May be nice to be able to remove the carpet for a deeper cleaning.

I am reworking my bunny cage and have vinyl tiles to stick to the bottom of the cage. They are supposed to be self stick but keep sliding off. Is there a glue that is strong enough to keep the tiles on but without dangerous ingredients for the buns to be around? They wouldn’t be able to ingest it, but I know some glues have harsh chemicals they s…[Read more]

Hi,
I’m new to this forum – I actually signed up specifically to ask advice on this matter. This will be quite lengthy, so I apologize in advance 🙂
Exactly a week ago I had my 2 female rabbits spayed (Hazel and Lola). I was not prepared for such a bumpy and involved recovery period for this procedure. I did some research prior to their surgery…[Read more]

So forgive me for asking a question that seems to be common knowledge … but how do you bunnyproof a cord that you cannot tuck away?

Oh! Gotcha, that sounds very positive then!
I like marathoning when it gets to this point (well, I don’t “like” it, but I think it’s effective). Once you know they are communicating without full-on fights and you start seeing positive behaviors, like you have, I think it works really well to just push on through, especially when you have a good…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Changing around position of things in cage to make her interested? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Dental pain can manifest in different types of food preferences so it’s hard to say.
If she isn’t eating enough hay, keep offering her what she will eat to make sure she doesn’t go into stasis. You can also offer critical care and see if she will take that. Did you make an appointment to take her to the vet? If her pooping stops she should be…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Dirty bunny butt! in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 4 months ago
Hmmm, a healthy bun should not have a perpetually dirty bum. Is it more from urine or poop?
Excess cecotropes could be the problem, or she might have a urinary tract infection. A vet visit might be in order.
What is her litter box set up like?
