Yes I agree it is interesting they did a 180 on their stance on Alfalfa! They claim they did it because of consumer pressure…? But yes the proportion is on par with what you would give of Oxbow. Mine only get about a tablespoon each a day. I was def not into their formula that they recommended being free-fed. Hay eating is so important for teeth…[Read more]

I honestly don’t remember much about the dream! I feel like I was in a weird place and some how had bunnies with me though, and Fresno was one of them!

Thanks for the tip Hazel! And thank you Dana – so funny he was in your dream! What happened in it? 😝
Seems like a few of us use the “layer of hay on top of poop” method. It works nicely with my girls because they won’t touch the hay that’s sitting on their poop but I tried it with Fresno and he ate it, so there was no more barrier between…[Read more]

tobyluv – Is there any reason you mix a bit of garden select in rather than using it as your main pellet source?
Hazel – a classic for sure! It’s what I fed when I first became a bunny mama and never had any problems with it.

Dana – I didn’t know Sherwood was offering timothy pellets without any alfalfa now. I find that kind of funny since they seemed so set in their “alfalfa is great for bunnies of all ages! we swear!” ways. That’s what I found annoying about it, although I had tried their original formula anyway and I noticed Desmond practically stopped eating…[Read more]

So I would focus on the space that worked the best, the balcony. It was likely the most neutral and also slightly stressful.
You also should focus on preventing scuffling, rather than just breaking things up. It is very important to end on a positive note, rather than to wait until things turn bad.
Here’s what I would do (either working with all…[Read more]

Maybe that point didn’t come across correctly. I absolutely intend to work to build a relationship of trust with Bonnie, whether she ends up in the trio or not, but I was just wondering if one order of operations might be easier for her (I’m also prepared for it to take a very long time to gain her trust). I have witnessed shy bunnies become much…[Read more]

Oh no, is yours working again? 🙁 Mine didn’t get very wet either, it just fell were there was barely any water at all, I thought just the case got wet on the outside. It was acting fine, and being the dummy that I am I wiped it off and kept using it. I don’t know what I was thinking. Anyway, after a couple of hours it finally started to act…[Read more]

Hi Dana! Thanks for your response. Ive tried three different types of sessions:
- One with all three buns in a hallway where no bun has been before; resulted in a scuffle between Mia and Bunny while Lilly jumped into my lap terrified.
- Bunny and Lilly each had a mini session trapped in a tiny enclosure next to Mia (who was also trapped in the…

‘First is whether I should wait until Bonnie is much more confident and trusting of us to attempt any bonding. Normally I would think yes, but I know she likes other bunnies, so I just wonder if she would be happier here if she was bonded with them.’
— It sounds like your balancing a one or the other choice here, when you can have both? As we…[Read more]

@kanin you are doing a great job! Fresno was even in my dream last night lol!
Regarding litter boxes, I do mine every other day, but I dump the whole thing. I have a cheap source of pine pellets and hay so I don’t stress too much about wasting a bit. I do a really fluffy layer of hay over the pellets, and then add more hay on the day between…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic pen size for two bunnies in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 6 years, 3 months ago
If you have the room, I would say the more room, the better! A lot of factors go into whether a pen is the “right size” for ## of rabbits. There are guidelines, but superseding all is “the bigger, the better”.
Something to keep in mind is, even if the area is adequate, consider how much space is free for the rabbits to get out their energy, run…[Read more]

You are probably right! More time certainly wont hurt anything. I don’t need another quarantine project lol.
LOL Bun Jovi is so oblivious! I don’t think he can see very well, so sometimes I wonder if he even sees Bonnie at all!

After my Petunia is spayed I’m thinking of getting her a friend. My pen currently is 4×4 would that be big enough for two bunnies or should I get an extension to make is 4×6? I don’t have anymore room so the max is 4×6. Is that adequate for two young buns? Of course lots of outside time as well but there will be times when they have to be in there…[Read more]

Fingers crossed it dries, Hazel! I got my phone wet a couple days ago. Not very wet, but I got the moisture warning and couldnt charge it. Apparently you’re supposed to dry it standing up. (I e the phone standing up 🤣) I propped mine up so it stood on its short end and it did dry.

Thank we will try that. Last night they were actually okay – that was after they had spent most of the day in separate rooms, meeting again only in the evening. No pulling or chasing. However, we’re keeping an eye on things and the suggestions have given us lots to work with! Thank you all
