Hi just an update about my bunny!

The next day after i last responded i took her back to the vet and they gave me medication and cat metacam to give to her.

She has definitely improved and is practically 100% herself again except for every time she eats something in large bulk (like her hay), i hear her tummy gurgling but she goes back to normal…[Read more]

Yep, I agree with Wick. Sneezing many times in a row suggests a possible URI. Like I said, not a huge emergency. But they will need to be seen soon by a vet so they can be treated. It won’t go away on it’s own, you’ll need antibiotics.

It does have a URI sound to it as I’m reading it. My Wick had a URI and the first sign was repeated sneezes in a row, even though there was no discharge or runny eyes. He never really has those symptoms until during treatment, since we started treating early.

If it’s a URI it’s not something huge to worry about — it can be treated with antibiotics.

Keep a close eye on the bump. Sometimes hard-ish scare tissue forms, but if that’s the case, the bump will not change in size (not even shrink, for a long time, at least). If it is an abscess it needs to be cleaned out and most likely treated with antibiotics.

It would be good to lift her up to check the nails. Maybe your boyfriend could hold her in his lap, so you can have look and feel over the nails? Some buns are prone to breaking nails, especially if the nails have become a bit long. If it was just very little blood my guess would be a broken nail, but theres no way to know for sure without a proper look.

They definitely need to stay separated. In fact you should double up on the fence with a few inches in between so they don’t bite each other through the fence.

I’m looking for a vet, I hadn’t noticed the bump until yesterday so it formed within the past day.  They have been separated since we got them.  It’s been about 5 days.  We are afraid to let them be together, but there pen is fence in between them so they spend a lot of the day sniffing and touching noses.  And they sleep next to each other too.

She’s quite clumsy so I wouldn’t rule out anything. She seems to be exactly as she normally would. My boyfriend said he didn’t even notice the blood until I pointed it out so it is either from this morning when we went into the cage to greet her or from last night.

Check her nails, she might have broken one. Also check her toes if you find a broken nail. Check for swelling. Is she putting weight on all four feet? A broken nail is not a vet emergency unless there are signs of something more going on.

The important thing is to rule out if it is a sound of discomfort. A congested nose can make a slightly squeaky sound. If your rabbit is doing this while the couple seem to be blissfully relaxed, it could very well be just a sound of contentment. Is there any chance you could record it so we could listen?
