Thanks! I looked through the thread, these aren’t like the double poops as they are very round (gah I never thought I would be typing poo so much today 😀 ), he may have had one of those in his earlier when he first hit his molt and had his linked by hair poops. Reading that page I thought maybe the protein issue, but they really just look like…[Read more]

Double poops are formed when 2 normal poops collide inside the gut. This suggests the gut has slowed a bit, which isn’t surprising considering he is going through such an awful molt.
Here’s a sticky thread about poop. There is a link at the top that takes you to a visual guide. Very interesting!…[Read more]

I have seen lots of things about looking out for smaller than usual poos and not enough poos, but cleaning out Dorian’s litter this batch was bigger than usual and there were a lot. He is mid molt, and he had a few days back a few hours where he didn’t have a huge appetite and didn’t have a lot of pellets in the morning, but after he passed a…[Read more]

Yikes!! I just read this and am worried about greens. We’re in Maryland but basically all the greens you can buy at the store are from California, Arizona, or Mexico. What are you all doing for this? I can’t go to local markets due to COVID (we get groceries delivered instead) and don’t have the acres of farmland it would take to feed our bun…[Read more]

my bun will also get green paws after washing himself after a bowl of leafy greens… certain greens seem to make it brighter. His white nose marking also gets green, it usually fades pretty quickly. As other have said I would really worry about it, especially if it’s not sticky seeming and he hasn’t been acting ill.

When bunnies are flopped, sometimes their breathing looks more exaggerated. If you are concerned, then you should take your bunny to the vet. I agree with Jersey. A possible URI isn’t considered a HUGE emergency, but if your bunny has unexplained sneezing/runny nose then you shouldn’t let that fester.

It isn’t unusual for white paws to get a green “tint” from hay dust. This is particularly true if hay is kept in the litter box.

Hi BunBun
Welcome to the forum. 🙂 This is an old thread so I will lock it from further replies after I respond to you. We did want to clarify the age of your new rabbit! Is it 2 weeks or 2 months? At 2 weeks old, it should still be in the nestbox, so it is worrisome if it is that young. If you would like to start a new topic in the Behavior…[Read more]

Hello
The link to the video didnt work, Is there another “sharing” link?
Has Dobby been assessed for the running nose/ sneezing before? Does he have clear discharge or is it opaque?
I do think a vet visit would be wise because there is always a risk of a respiratory infection moving in deeper and causing pneumonia.

Hi, my rabbit, Dobby, recently seems to be breathing slower and heavier than what I have noticed. He also has had a runny nose and been sneezing a few times, but that hasn’t been that concerning to me because he’s been doing that for a while. It’s his breathing I’m concerned about. Should I take him to the vet, or is he just relaxed? Any advice?…[Read more]

I think it could be veggies, because while examining his paws there were little bits of dirt from the lettuce (fresh from my garden). It could also be his hay, but I don’t think it is discharge from his nose because he is behaving very normally, flopping, grooming and all.

Just noticed several brown spots on the towel in our bun’s cage, which smell like people sweat This is the first we have noticed this. She is well litterbox trained and was spayed just over two weeks ago at about 7mos old. So, from what I am reading, this may be a normal secretion. Any new info to indicate if it goes away, and is there a…[Read more]

It may be from eating veggies, a mixture of moisture and hay dust, or green discharge from the nose, though the latter would show some other concerning signs. Do any of these seem plausible to you?

I have a strange bunny. She is rather bold and active. The second day she arrived at my house she started to explore everywhere and helped grooming my guinea pig neutrally. Half a year has passed and we moved to a new apartment last week. I thought moving could cause stress for pets as I had read online but for her no. Moving is like a fun thing…[Read more]
