How sure are you of his current age? Just asking cause if a rescue there seems to be a lot of guessing. Initially I was told Dorian was 2 months old as he was little puff, but the vet decided he was 6 months at his neuter (which was the day I picked him up from the animal shelter, talk about dramatic homecoming!). Then again you mentioned he has…[Read more]

Thanks @Hope! He knows it too :D. I really think when they are little they just have a hard time holding in the poops, maybe like human toddlers they just don’t have all control yet.

Hey! Sorry about your poor bun. Sending vibes to you guys ❤️
Iām one of the ones LBJ was referring to with regards to urinary EC symptoms. If you can, I definitely think itās worth a shot to get tested. Bombur has flare ups every few months or when heās stressed. His major symptoms are incontinence/dribbling, and some times sludgy urine. But h…[Read more]

So happy to hear they’re earing! Their poop will come back to normal if they eat like normal, but it can take up to 2 weeks.
The reason we ask about diarrhea is that you differentiate between true diarrhea and runny/mushy stools. All runny stools, without any tendency to formed poop is a veterinary emergency. It mostly occurs in very young buns…[Read more]

So very sorry for your loss. I lost my sweet kitty in a similar way and it totally broke me up so I can very much imagine your pain. Tumors suck so much. Cohen sounds like an amazing bun, is that him in your profile photo? If so, what a cutie! Take time to grieve and don’t feel you need to be okay, but don’t blame yourself. I am sure he never…[Read more]

Dorian would leave little pellets about for the first couple weeks, marking territory I think. And he also used to have what I called sleep poos… he’s out grown both pretty much, though once in a while there will be stray one. Given you just got her I bet a lot of that will calm down, and since she is a baby still I am sure some of that is from…[Read more]

Been there! he’s gotten a charger for my phone and my work laptop… I now just always have an extra on hand. He’s do damn quick and seems to just be unable to resist! Both are in my bedroom which he is not really supposed to be in, but he loves playing on the bed (& chewing all those yummy cables) so he makes a mad dash in sometimes when I am…[Read more]

Thank you so much for your reply Bam! It gives me a little bit of hope. I feel terrible that heās going through this and there isnāt much I could do š
The ear drops are called Synotic. The other antibiotic was Azithromycin but the vet said I could stop it and try the calendula ointment instead.
Iām going to see if maybe I can wrap his foot,…[Read more]

@Hope We started fostering her about 5 weeks ago! I ended up having to change our set-up around after the first week though, so it’s only been 4 weeks with the current set-up. The first couple weeks she showed no interest in coming out, and didn’t even move around her pen very much. I even had to move her water bowl closer to her fav spot because…[Read more]

I’m sorry you are going through this. Inappetence is a common side effect of antibiotics in buns. You may have to syringe him critical care for the duration of medication. Even antibiotic ear drops can affect appetite. What is the name of the ear drops?
Some buns can benefit from an antihistamine to relieve the dizziness/possible nausea that can…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
I have an 8 yr old dwarf bunny named Cocoa. He was recently diagnosed with a middle ear infection thatās causing him to tilt his head, mostly when he eats or lays down, and a sore hock :((. His appetite was normal until I took him to the vet about 4 days ago. The vet prescribed some antibiotics and ear drops and as soon as I gave i…[Read more]

Can you get at least one extra litter box? Rabbits sometimes pick their own litter spot and if she has a spot outside her cage that she’s going it can be helpful to put another box in that spot while you work on training. Definitely get her spayed. It will help with her litter habits, general behavior, and as mentioned above rabbits are at very…[Read more]

Those are not wild rabbits but dang are they cute! Thank you for providing them with a home and rescuing them! More than likely you can reestablish their baby bond with some work and by going through the basic steps that you have to do with a new pair. Hopefully since they were friendly before it won’t be a hard process to get them friendly again.
