Woah 8 months!!

Loofah is checking back into the very tomorrow and will be neutered then if all okay.

Agreed. This is very normal behavior between intact, unbonded rabbits and won’t change until they have been neutered.

sounds like my couch issue, I sadly have no great advice, I have just made it off limits until I figure it out, used a x-pen like a fence. You could toss a tarp or plastic shower curtain liner over your bed, he probably won’t like the feel of it on his feet and if and accident happens easy clean up.

What type of space is she in the other 22 hours per day?  Or is most of the day in the 1000 sq ft space?

2 hours per day is not enough if she is in a much smaller area the rest of the day. But I may be interpreting things wrong so please correct me if that’s the case!

The photo issue is being worked on and has to do with the site still being under construction. The way members have been able to get around it is to add photos to your profile, and then when you go to add media the photo should be available to insert into your post.

It sounds like they are entering puberty, and marking will continue until you get them neutered.

I think you are entering the Pee Wars! This happens when rabbits are territorial, or when a new rabbit enters their territory. Do both get along okay? My rabbits who were doing the pee wars at one point didn’t get along to well, except in neutral territory, although there was still pee. Maybe you could try bonding them? @ louiethebunny I have made 3 hay feeders one from a tissue box another from a paper bag and one from a toilet paper tube! I stuffed a little alfalfa hay and some papaya and some bunny cookies into the bag. She seems to really like it I.😀am working on the pic it will be posted today!

Sounds good, just be careful giving them too much space too quickly, especially if it’s not neutral. Scuffles can occur and set things back. You also want to be careful of them trying to reclaim their own spaces and staking out separate territories. She might not want to groom him back until he stops trying to mount her.

@danaNM she gets a lot of space to roam in about 1,000 square feet? Maybe more. She gets out for at least 2 hours a day or more. Pine shavings are not safe for bunnies. The aromatic oils in the pine can be hard of the bun’s respiratory systems and can cause problems if the bun ever needs to go under anesthesia (something to do with the liver…). Aspen shavings are safe though, but are more expensive.

Lights at night are not really what rabbits are interested in. If there is extra light  they can see predators better, but they also become more visible themselves to predators, which is part of the reason why rabbits are crepuscular (crepuscular means most active at dusk and dawn).

I don’t think you need to leave the lights on, rabbits have a very keen sense of smell and have very sharp hearing, so he would probably be able to sense a predator. 🙂

Agree with Hazel. I thought you were talking like a 6-7 month old bun 😂 most buns transition off alfalfa pellets and hay around 6 months.

She’s still very young, you don’t have to wean her off of it for another 2-3 months, or until she stops growing.
