@DanaNM, What? πΏ That is so un-humane!!! ALL 10 bunnies crammed in a trash can? Poor, poor, poor bunnies. π₯ It is a blessing for them that they are at your rescue now, though. π

In one of my online rabbit groups someone posted an alert about someone giving away free bunnies at a garage sale… I couldn’t go to see if I could help, but some others did, so that’s good.

@Hazel That just about describes their bonding π LoL. Yesterday there was no pee, too! π It is definitely going in a more positive direction now. Fingers crossed for a trio soon!
@Reesebun WOW! That is an AMAZING pen you made! Spoiled, spoiled, spoiled buns! πΒ
@Moonlightbunny66 Thank you! They were getting comfortable. π

I will get some this week! His name is Sven, lol. He just came out of quarantine the day of my shift last week, and we had a ton of new bunnies and guinea pigs so I didn’t really have anytime for playing with the buns. Then the next day someone dropped off 10 rabbits in a trash can…. WTH is wrong with people?? >:(

Wow @Reesebun ! That looks so professional and lovely for the buns! I end up sticking with the NIC method because I know if I tried something like that it would look a shambles. I have a joke with my husband that if I ever had my own Etsy shop it would be called “Felt, Hot-glue, and Sadness” because all of my crafts always end up looking very……[Read more]

I also think it would be doable to finish up bonding the pair that you were previously working on that you mentioned was almost bonded. Then at least you would have 3 set-ups to tend to vs. 4.

I think your bun will go back to relaxing 9n your bed like he used too
It is a relaxed, comfy position that is not sexually driven. Old bunnies as well as young bunnies relax in that way.
The nearest couple of weeks after the neuter there is a lot going on in the rabbit body. As the others have said, there are still circulating hormones in the…[Read more]

So do you only have three weeks until you start school again? That seems ambitious to finish bonding a quad. It could be possible… but with a bond that new I would want to make sure I had lots of time to supervise once they were together, so that would stress me out. In my experience when a bonding is being pushing by anxiety that translates to…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic HELP: Bald spot! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 1 month ago
Different rabbits respond to stress differently. Overgrooming/plucking is a coping mechanism for some rabbits. They get stressed out, they start pulling their own fur out. Stress can be caused by things that we might not notice, like unusual sounds (construction, etc.).
If it isn’t stress-related, then it could be something causing the skin to…[Read more]

Could be habitual overgrooming, has he been stressed lately? It could also be an issue with parasites. Fleas and mites often use the hind end as a “safe spot”.

He does not live with another rabbit. Heβs a little over a year old and was neutered so he is definitely a male.

@HipHopBunny : I don’t feel like they’re putting any effort into those bonding sessions anymore, they’re just hanging out… π
@Reesebun : Wow, that looks great, no wonder the buns love it. I’m not handy enough to make anything half as good, nice job! π

Asriel and Bombur replied to the topic When did your bun show you love in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 1 month ago
It took Asriel about a solid year before he wanted much to do with my husband and I. We were incessant with trying to get him to feel like he was loved. Eventually we stopped trying, and a wonderful thing happened, he came over looking for attention. 3 years later and he will wake me up at 3am for all the snoot rubs, and he will scratch at me…[Read more]

Agree with Hazel, which leads me to ask, how old is your bunny? If your bunny is young (under 6 months) he could’ve been incorrectly sexed, and could be a female pulling out fur for a false pregnancy.

Asriel and Bombur replied to the topic E. cuniculi and head tilt in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 1 month ago
Bombur has EC, and it can take a bit sometimes before the Panacur can really take full affect. Bombur has been on back to back rounds of EC meds a few different times to resolve symptoms. Sometimes that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. Bombur has recurring flare-ups when he’s under stress from things like moving, or a bad molt. Bombur doesn’t…[Read more]

I agree with Hazel. The piece was likely too small to cause any damage.

If it was just a tiny bit she will probably be fine. Try to encourage her to eat plenty of hay and drink lots of water and just keep an eye on her. As long as she’s acting normal I wouldn’t worry too much.

Agree with Azerane, you want some sort of pen because there will be times when you will have to put him up. There are different options, dog crates, x-pens and NIC condos will all do the trick. If you choose something with a smaller footprint like a dog crate, try to find one that’s tall enough so you can add a second level.
