Spring mix is perfectly safe. Some bunnies prefer it because the “baby” greens are less bitter. Bell peppers, parsley and blue berries are safe to give. Just remember parsley is on the list for containing high amounts of oxalic acid.

I always use the scissor-style ones. They are easier to put over the nail and are easier to control. Plus you can easily let go if bunny suddenly tries to struggle. With the style you pictured, you have to thread the nail through a hole. If they struggle, then the nail isn’t easily released.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Feeding bunnies yogurt??? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 1 month ago

The old way of thinking (which included many vets) was that a little bit of plain yogurt could help with GI issues because they contain probiotics. The problem with yogurt, however, is that dairy products are not easily digested by rabbits. And, as the others pointed out, yogurt contains sugars which aren’t good for bunnies in excess. There are…[Read more]

I agree that the crate is how he is getting up (caught him doing it yesterday). I don’t have anyplace else to put the crate. I will definitely try to give him a better place to climb as soon as I can. Thanks you so much for the help ❤️

I bought this litter (horse stall pellets) by “Top Bedding” for my bunnies for about $7 CAD. I went to the farm feed store and asked for horse stall pellets and they gave me an order paper and sent me to the back for them to put it in my trunk. They look different from the ones I’ve seen, according to the photos on the website. But I haven…[Read more]

Hey guys. I use these nail clippers on my cats and I’m wondering if they can be used for my bunnies when I get them. I’ve seen people use the small scissor-like ones, but they look like they break easy to me.

I agree with @Wick then, you’ll be able to tell if the bowls need extra cleaning.

Having the crate right there makes the desk super tempting, I bet he is climbing up via the crate? Is there another spot you could keep it? At least while he is out and roaming?

I think it can happen with trauma, it affects the hair follicle ability to produce color, but it should be no danger to the Bun. I have seen it in cats and even humans. Siamese cats definitely, but I had a friend who had an accident where she needed some stitches on her head, when the hair grew back most was normal but she then had a little white…[Read more]

We have had several members who have given their ec buns multiple courses of Panacur. It isn’t considered possible to eradicate ec, but it can often be kept in check with panacur.

EC is still not fully understood  but it is highly likely that it can affect the gut. (This is probably more common than previously believed). We have one member…[Read more]
