She doesn’t hate you. She’s going through what we call “Post-spay hormonal craze” the first 4-6 weeks after spay, they have a rush of hormones, making them really unpleasant to be around, but after it goes away, it leaves you with the most lovable bun you could ever ask for. You will get through this! Wishing you strength!

So 2 weeks ago I had my bunny Starlight spayed, she ran into a bit of tummy trouble so I’ve had to feed her medicine. Usually she’s fine with being syringe fed but lately she freaks out and stomps her foot and makes little barking noises. She won’t look at me, moves to the other end of her pen when i go in to hang out or even charges me and tries…[Read more]

Sounds like you are doing everything right. I second what JackRabbit said about the pellets. I would also try mixing up the hay. Timothy and Orchard Grass are the most common, but there are different cuts. My buns are use to “farm” hay, which is a lot stalker than bag store hay. This spring was very wet and I had to use store hay for 2 weeks and…[Read more]

Yes, I have a back up fleece. I love your idea of putting him in his carrier. He is a fabric chewer so I have to be careful to lay it flat. Also the vinegar and water idea is great and I’ll have to remember that for next time he has a small accident.

If the spot isn’t too big, you can spot clean with water and vinegar and just re-arrange things slightly so it can air dry without the litter box over it. Workflow wise, you can probably that the fleece off without needing to deconstruct the Xpen, but just strategically lifting it section by section by section as you gather the fleece? For the…[Read more]

Took Griff to vets last night. The vet said he really looked good. He said he does not have a UTI. Considering his history, he thinks he has developed incontinence. The vet proscribed proin for the next 2 weeks.

Hi I’m new to this forum and I kinda wanted to hear if anyone has had this experience because I can’t find any info anywhere! My bun django developed a lump just outside the opening of his ear a couple weeks back, took him to the vet and they stuck a scalpel in it to find out what was inside, turns out it was a haematoma which is caused by a bur…[Read more]

What brand of pellets are you feeding?  Some buns can’t handle the sugars and fillers in the common brands of pellets and feeding pellets that are grain-free and soy-free can make a big difference with those buns.

My rabbit Baylor lives in an X pen. Recently, he peed on top of his covered litter box and it went down the sides and onto the fleece🤦♀️. Now I have to wash it. However, his fleece is tucked under the puzzle mats which is under the x pen. It’s a pain to move everything every time I clean, plus I’m not sure where to put Baylor as I clean, as he…[Read more]

Baylor is a 4 mon old non neutered Netherland dwarf. He lives in my room, and I thought it would be nice not to see his poop all the time, so I decided to try a covered litter box. We started with the lid off so that it was not the biggest change, and he used it fine. Then I put the lid on, and he used it fine until he figured out that he could…[Read more]

Some buns are prone to sticky poop. Why this is, isn’t fully known, but chances are there’s some sort of hereditary component. The problem can be in the innervation of the gut, or it can be about an imbalance in the gut microbiota. Very often its a combination of several things.
Hay actually has good nutrients, even though it doesn’t look like it…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Help me guess what breed my baby bun is! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 1 month ago
The color is frosty point, which is similar to sable point but with a light frosty gray color instead of brown. You see it in a lot of dwarf breeds. If I were to guess, your bunny is probably a false dwarf Nethie or a Nethie mix. Super cute!
