Any simethicone baby gasdrops will do. There are several brands varying in strength from 20 mg/ml to 100 mg/ml. Any of them will do, you can’t accidentally overdose on simethicone baby gas drops. Give 1-2 ml per hour for the first 3 hours, then once per 2 hours. You should see improvement within 20-30 mins if it is gas.
To help the gas get out,…[Read more]

Signs of megacolon appear in these individuals when they are young, then it progresses to more severe symptoms as they get older. I’ve never heard of symptoms suddenly arising at 3-4 years of age. As Dana said, they are unable to maintain an ideal weight because their bodies cannot absorb nutrients properly. Their body wastes away and they lose…[Read more]

YAY! I told you, Hazel, they were coming! π What a cutie! Queen of the house already, eh? Letting you pet her? Oh, I am so jealous! Took my ladies a while! (well, Smokey was always sweet π ) I love her set-up! The cardboard house is adorable! Oooooh, way too cute! Of course, now that Hazel’s seen them, she wants more, a lot more, so, haha, she…[Read more]

These are some pics from her exploring today! Itβs so weird to think that sheβs only been here for around 24 hours! Sheβs already so comfortable and runs right up to the front of the pen whenever I come into the room. -

I’m worried about them bullying Smokey. π Even now they’ll chase her around the room. π₯ Poor Smokey. I haven’t been as good about stress bonding them as I should be, for they seem to be treating her decently, although, they still will chase her sometimes. I don’t know why though! She’s kind to them, doesn’t care about the hierarchy, and…[Read more]

Thanks guys! Iβm gonna call the vets in my area tomorrow and see if anyone actually specializes in rabbits. And also see if they are accepting new patients. I just want the best for them.
And I will write fipronil down as a no-no. If thereβs any other bad ingredients, let me know!

“Gaston” π
If you’re right there, I wouldn’t worry too much about falling asleep. If something goes wrong I’m sure you’ll hear it. I bet they’ll be fine though! π
Adorable picture, at first I didn’t realize sneaky Silver was hiding in the back there!

Yay Oscar pics! He looks like he has so much personality with just the right amount of sass! He really is just too much in the cute department.
Dorian did eventually close his eyes, I think the elephant is fine with it though… his don’t close either :D. (he did knock him over after this photo so that they could be both flopped, at least they…[Read more]

Thank you for your response. π I could make that work. On the night of the marathon, I sleep in there to make sure everything goes okay? Just wondering, how much sleep have you or other’s gotten on that night? It’s a little daunting to think about, LOL. π

Also the vet gave us an antibacterial cream that we used twice a day, now we use once a day, because it has healed quite a lot, but still not fully.

Something I didn’t mention earlier, was that he had urins scald once he started losing lots of weight, and the vet didn’t know why, but for some reason, he was peeing on himself, and it was getting all down his legs, and around his tail. I think it might have been because he was so weak he couldn’t sit properly, and he ended up peeing on himself.…[Read more]

Hmmm, a bale is pretty big, so you prob wont want it in your room! You could keep it in the garage and then bring in a few days worth at a time to keep under your vanity.
My family has horses, and we’ve always kept the hay in a barn or shed. Main thing is to keep it dry, and you want some airflow, so it would be stacked on a pallet so it was off…[Read more]

Thanks for the additional info! Some rabbits do need some pellets, every rabbit really is different! There also could have been a subtle decrease in his hay consumption with his molar spurs that was enough to lose weight.
Having nice normal poops now and and a good weight are all very good things. π
