Sorry, I’ve been super busy and haven’t had much of a chance to get online.
I am not totally lost to the way of rabbits, though it has been a while since I’ve owned one. I used to work at a veterinary clinic where we would occasionally sex rabbits and check on their health and such. This little guy wasn’t too hard to sex, because his privates are…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Rabbit vet in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
There are antibiotics that are not safe for rabbits, but I doubt a vet would try to prescribe something if you are suspecting ear mites.
When looking for a vet, try looking for exotic or avian vets. My vet office actually advertises itself as an avian vet. They see all kinds of “exotics” though, with one doctor (the one we see) specializing in…[Read more]

Welcome back Muchelle! π
I’m so sorry about Kuro. πΒ I’m glad you got some new babies though, they’re adorable (they look greek to me?) I love tortoises, I got a name picked out just in case I ever get one. π

I would tried something like Yesterday’s News (paper pellets), horse stall pellets (pine pellets) or wood stove pellets (plain, no accelerant).

I have a bunny that is prone to gas episodes. He will act uncomfortable, shift positions, push his belly to the floor, sit in the litter box (as if he thinks he has to go), refuses to eat, etc. His stomach is never hard or distended during these episodes. I would be extremely alarmed if it was because that would suggest “bloat”, which is very…[Read more]

Welcome back! Those are some very lovely rabbits you have there. Are they litter trained? π

Bam replied to the topic Mat for food and water bowls?? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years ago
You could perhaps use one of those plastic trays you use to put muddy boots on in the hall? They are hard plastic and not expensive, they have a bit of a rim so water spill won’t get on the floor. The rim isn’t so high the bun would have trouble reaching the bowls.

I have read your thread a little!Β Last update I saw was on 09/10/2020.Β I am going to see where the Tub bonding goes first then will definitely consider the car ride – it looked like an interesting idea and I have a dual carrier for when I bring Sunny and Binky out (they NEVER go to the vet alone, even if only one has an appointment lol)
I W…[Read more]

Its very good that his stomach is not hard! Its less good that you can’t hear any sounds. There could still be some gas, because gas results when there’s a gut slowdown as this seems to be. Baby gas drops are not harmful, they are not absorbed by the body, they only act locally in the GI canal.
Treating for gas and keeping the bun warm and if…[Read more]

So if Gaston is chasing Smokey, I guess that makes her Belle?! Maybe Silver is actually into Smokey and doesn’t know how to be cool about it… This is getting complicated π
I think we need a big hairy, fourth bun to back up Belle π

Here is a good video on how to massage a bun’s tum to help with gas pain:Β https://youtu.be/LbyC6CWbm5M
Also try and make you bun move, it can help the gas move out. Make sure he isn’t cold, if he is (ear temp gives you a rough estimate), warm him with a warm water bottle or hand warmers wrapped in a blanket, or sit him in your lap and warm him…[Read more]
