There are antibiotics that are not safe for rabbits, but I doubt a vet would try to prescribe something if you are suspecting ear mites.

I would tried something like Yesterday’s News (paper pellets), horse stall pellets (pine pellets) or wood stove pellets (plain, no accelerant).

Welcome back! Those are some very lovely rabbits you have there. Are they litter trained? 😉

You could perhaps use one of those plastic trays you use to put muddy boots on in the hall? They are hard plastic and not expensive, they have a bit of a rim so water spill won’t get on the floor. The rim isn’t so high the bun would have trouble reaching the bowls.
