::Update::
Thank you much for the advice. Luckily I managed to find an animal hospital that takes bunnies. It was a 1 and a half hour drive but it was best I could do.
He was diagnosed with GI stasis. They took him in and did a full body exam. They found no other issue aside from GI stasis.
They sent him back home with me with instructions…[Read more]

I know one of our members (no longer active on the forums) just recently gave her bun a sanitary shave with they type of cutter we normally use for our own bikini shaves 😀 She took great care to not go too close to the skin because you don’t want to nick the skin, obviously. It helps a lot f you can get someone else to help you hold the bun.
Once…[Read more]

Honestly I’d probably just leave the lid off… pick your battles, so they say!

You could also maybe try mixing a little unsweetened applesauce or critical care in with it, so that it’s yummy. Or maybe putting a little banana on the end of the syringe – although if it has a strong taste that might not work as well.

Will you be able to be in the room when they do the exam? If you are, you can bring a towel or blanket that she can sit on during the exam. Vet tables are very slippery and shiny for sanitary reasons, a towel under the bun makes the experience less awful for the bun.
I give a probiotic before stressful events like vet visit or travel. Fragrant…[Read more]

Starlight has a check up in 2 days and she hates going to the vet to the point she resents me for days. Any ideas how I can make her more comfortable and less stressed? I have tried treats.

Rabbits often do eat more hay if it is in different places around their area. It’s a more natural way for them to forage for food. Also, found hay often trumps given hay!

It’s the bunny-namers here I’m worried about. Your honorary bunnies won’t be spared.

Personally, If I were to shave a bun’s privates I’d feel uncomfortable even after having a vet teaching me how to. My bun was especially squirmy!
What I was comfortable with, the times he needed to be extra clean around his butt, was to keep the area clean by washing/drying it, cutting matted hair with a tiny pair of scissors and treating the…[Read more]

He definitely seems to know that’s the bathroom spot and the lid probably has him confused… off the top of my head, the easiest thing I can think of is to slide the litter box under a taller piece of furniture so that it’s not in the open but too high for the bun to be wanting to jump on top

I didn’t think to put it on her morning veggies! I’ll give that a try tomorrow! I’ll also try to get her a hay rack, maybe she’ll eat more hay if it was in more places than just her litterbox. Thank you!
