Even if it were a common practice, it’s not good to do anything you don’t feel comfortable with, because you’ll be nervous and they can feel it! (unless it’s something life-saving like admininstering medicines, for example… that has to be done…)
I’d say call the vet and ask about an ointment or something to soothe the skin and do try the dry…[Read more] -

Muchelle replied to the topic Will this anxiety go away? in the forum THE LOUNGE 6 years ago
if you think about it, getting a pet you really wanted to have is a bit like having a kid of your own… so I think your anxiety is justified for now. Give yourself (and the bun) time to get used to each other, learn each other’s patterns. Once you’ll get to know the bun better, you’ll gain confidence and will feel more at ease.
just a tip: if…[Read more]

Thanks pinkiemarie – that’s good to know!. He’s been here in my home for the last 3 months and was in the shelter previously for a while. I previously had a post here on his soft stools so no need to suggest dietary changes – usually the recommendation for intermittent soft stools is hay only, but considering that Snowball eats for most of the d…[Read more]

Hi guys.
This is kind of a question but more of a casual one. I’ve been feeling so much anxiety about my new bun, worrying about every noise, every sleeping position, everything. I get chills and I get sick to my stomach and I just worry. Did this happen to you guys? Will this get better? She’s only been here since Friday but I love her so muc…[Read more]

My bunnies eat a lot but they definitely have a good chunk of the day when they’re just sleeping or playing. I agree that he may be eating slowly, and if he was not fed enough at his prior home he might also be taking advantage of theore generous food portions at your house to bulk up a little. I’m not sure what’s up with his soft stools so I’m…[Read more]

Oh also if it makes a difference her nose isn’t usually moving when she does it, so I’m pretty sure she’s sleeping. Though she did do it when she was playing with her toys earlier so … ?

I saw some old posts of someone else asking how to use it. One of the mods said 0.50ml once every hour for three hours. Since this one has 40mg of Simethicone. So that would be 1.5ml today. Do I need to give him a meal with it?

Ouch! 🙁 I take back my complaints on it being hot here! 😆 I prefer the cold to the heat, 80 degrees is too warm for me! 😆 Hopefully, you have something to keep you cool in there! LOL! Glad Bubbles is doing better, even if so in a destructive way! 😛

Somewhat odd question – but how long does your bun spend eating hay during the day?
My foster bun currently eats almost all hours of the day. Excluding nap times, he is probably eating 9 out of the 10 hours a day that I see him. I assume part of the reason is because I am not feeding him vegetables right now and he is getting a small amount o…[Read more]

I was also experiencing a lot of water spills with my rabbit and so I use what was previously a clear plastic top from one of the snacks I usually buy! It works well because it also has a bit of a rim to it. That being said, my bun doesn’t chew so that wasn’t a concern. I agree with Dana though, a hard plastic lunch tray (they have smaller si…[Read more]

When taking your rabbit’s temperature, how do you ensure that your rabbit doesn’t go into a trance? I was watching the Howcast video again linked above and previously tried to take Snowball’s temperature similarly (in a more C-shape way than just specifically on his back), but he did get very still in that position and had wide eyes. I want to e…[Read more]

Thanks. Can you check my recent post on the drops I got? I wanna know if they’re safe. Also I took a photo from digging in his litter box and there’s a bunch of these little white seeds in and on the poops. Something from the farm hay? And I could’ve sworn I saw some double poops earlier. Muffins poops don’t have the seeds on it. -

Update: Stress-bonding. Silver and Smokey at first were very active. Aaaaaaaand, bouncing all over the place. 🙁 I finally got them calmed down and they flopped. 🙂 Made some progress. Right now I’m doing 30-minute sessions with them. We definitely have a lot more of this ahead of us, the sessions did not go as smoothly as I hoped. 😐 I think…[Read more]

And do I still give 1ml once every hour for 3 hours today? Not sure cause it says not to exceed 1.5ml in 24 hours.

It does sound like some sort of discomfort, and if he was eating hay last night, then gas sounds more likely!
