Here is a website that compares the nutritional values of many pellet brands.
Ideally a rabbit pellets should have 20% fiber as a minimum, this website says 18%, but my rabbit savvy vet says 20 or higher.
An adult healthy rabbit needs about 1 tablespoon pellets of compressed pellets (Oxbow pellets are compressed type pellets) per kilo body…[Read more]

I’m very sorry that you’re unable to contact the store at this time. It’s possible that with the website update, some features may not be streamlining as they should, though I’m not exactly sure of the cause.
I welcome you to direct message me (click on the envelope under my profile picture) and we can make sure your message gets communicated to…[Read more]

It’s probably veggie staining. In my experience, the skin looks visibly and texturally unhealthy when something is amiss. Now having exposed skin is generally a risk factor for eventually getting an infection, simply because if the skin gets scratched and opens up, things might get in the wound, just like with humans. Also, places that tend to be…[Read more]

In terms of rabbit food, are you referring to the pellets, treats, and/or hay?
For hay, typically people get much lower prices if they have a local farm that sells it.
I definitely do not want to downplay any expense, regardless how frequently one buys it, but if you find yourself buying pellet bags very often, I wonder if you may be feeding too…[Read more]

Rabbits sometimes eat normal poop for a variety, but general harmless reasons, so I wouldn’t worry to much about that in particular unless it’s accompanied by other worrying/abnormal behaviors. If there is a sudden rise in frequency, I would raise a flag as well.
The stains could from ceco-juice, but typically it doesn’t spread that much. Pee…[Read more]

Hey guys! I’m not 100% sure how this works yet as I’m brand new to the binky community, but I have a year old holland lop (male/neutered) who isn’t taking well to a new kitten I adopted. He lunges towards her when he’s in his cage and will grunt and bite the cage when she comes near. I have to let them have their roaming times separately because…[Read more]

I keep seeing these stains on the blankets when I use my light pink ones. What could this be? Little pee spots? Liquid from eating cecotropes? (Pretty sure those light green stains are from eating their greens).By the way I saw Muffin eat an actual dried poop off the floor today……… Not sure if it was Pinky’s or his. Gross but funny and c…[Read more]

I agree with what has been said above. 🙂
My cats and rabbits get along decently, not as well as I’d like them to, so I have them in different rooms. With my buns, 2 of them are bold and are not afraid of the cats, OB, on the other hand, is a timid bun, so I keep them in separate rooms so OB isn’t alone. 🙂 You mentioned in your post too that…[Read more]

Hey guys, I have always bought my rabbit Oxbow rabbit food because I read it’s the healthiest. Suddenly I’m paying way more for it than I used to. It made me start wondering if there were any other brands of rabbit food that are just as healthy, but might be a less expensive. Would be grateful for recommendations. Thanks and have a wonderful day

She always got a lot of hay, but I’m hoping to improve the ratio to veg. And the last hay we had was this weird stringy stuff, that I don’t know if it was 3rd cut or something, no florets or flowers or anything, just stringy and thin and really flexible and tangled such that it made a huge mess as the buns pulled it from the bowl or hay feeder. I…[Read more]

I have an appointment for Thursday to see a vet. They said they don’t specialize but they see a lot of rabbits and I saw a review that says they treat gi stasis. Hopefully they’ll know what it is. I can’t seem to find a vet that specializes in rabbits.
Also update on his mouth, not sure if it’s from his greens today, but it looks green on the bot…[Read more]
