Dorian is a little bun and he hardly ever zooms, he is also under 2 years old so no excuses at all! He sounds a lot like your buns actually. He is free roam other than bedtime in his room and he does like to explore, but he does it at a calm bunny trot pace. Mainly he likes to flop dramatically and occasionally do little wiggle dances when he is…[Read more]

Hi, I’m a new bunny mom, and lately, I’ve been concerned about my rabbit. I don’t think she’s spayed, the person my mom got her from said that she is already spayed but I don’t really trust her. She has been acting a little bit weird and she wants to bite everything she sees and sometimes out of nowhere she also attacks me. She is 4 months old now…[Read more]

Dana – I just saw more clearly your advise on contacting the vet regarding getting a different nutritional recommendation . this is a good idea and I will follow up w the vet asking this specific question.

Pinky bit the cap of the revolution while I was trying to give it to him… This is his second and last dose before going back to the vet. The cap of course smells like the liquid but I doubt he ate enough to hurt him. But he was crunching quite a bit after biting the cap.The top is what it looked like before and the bottom is after. I think he…[Read more]

It probably won’t harm, but as Jade says, rabbits are dusk-and dawn creatures (crepuscular). Their calcium uptake is not regulated by the presence of vitamin D, like ours, and most other animals, tbh. Rabbits absorb all dietary calcium from the food they eat, then expel the surplus in the urine (which is why healthy rabbit urine is cloudy and…[Read more]

I have had my rabbit indoors her whole life. She is afraid of going into the garden and she’s nearly 10. My vet says she is hey get all they need in their diet….
It can’t harm though I suppose.
I have used lots of bulbs due to having a tortoise and I would personally use this if I was to pick one. Don’t have it too close to their eyes…[Read more]

@LBJ10, I know! I’m growing up! I joined the forum at like the youngest age you are allowed, and here I am, adulting, buying a house, so many years later.😂 It’s crazy how fast time is flying. Also maybe I need a little girl bun to name pigeon. The buns are getting their own room anyway (they aren’t bonded and never will be, Finn is a little spaz…[Read more]

Sometimes my buns with scratch their ears after I pet them, especially if they are molting. They can get loose fur in their ears and it tickles them. ๐
So if it’s only after you pet, that would be my guess.

I agree with all that has been said above. ๐
Try not to give up hope! It is hard, for all we want is to see them be happy, and binky. Different rabbits take different amounts of time though. ๐ That being said, the things we value most, are the things that we worked hard to get. In the end, you will have a happy bond, and see binkies daily.…[Read more]

When I was volunteering at my animal shelter, we frequently had buns come in that seemed anti-social or scared.ย We were always encouraged to go into the pen, and just sit away from the rabbit, read a book, or lie down for 15-20 minutes.ย The purpose was in hopes that the bun would slowly get used to people and maybe come inspect you once they f…[Read more]

Moonlightbunny66 – Thanks so much ๐ I was getting worried since he was shaking his head and seemed to kick inside his ear with such strength haha, but at the same time, it isn’t very frequent right now.ย It’s mostly after I pet him and the odd time I am watching him.ย I assume with Pinky, it kept getting worse?ย I did look inside his ears with a…[Read more]

I think she just needs space and time, you’ve only had her a few days. My foster Bonnie showed no interest in coming out for basically the first two weeks I had her, so I just gave her space and didn’t bother her or try to pet her. I basically would only feed her and clean her litter box. I even did the litter box every three days instead of every…[Read more]

The picture isn’t very clear. Are you sure it isn’t a tick?
If not, then it could be a cyst or papilloma.

In humans its recommended that you get 30 mins of midday sun each day and our species are supposed to be active during sunlight hours. Whereas rabbits are most active during dawn and dusk, plus they have fir covering their bodies so wouldn’t be great at synthesising vitamin d due to skin exposure. So I feel an hour a couple of times a week would…[Read more]
