I guess so it’s just strange he hasn’t done it in a long time, I rescued him in March 2020. I guess do our rabbits see us as family or anything like a dog or cat would? I have had tons cats, dogs, birds, horses, however a rabbit is new to me.

He’s not doing this to assert his dominance or anything like that, you’re not a bunny and he doesn’t see you as part of the hirarchy. @Bernard2020 – not sure Dorian’s breed… he’s a rescue bun, the shelter didn’t know. He’s on the smaller side (I think about 3lbs) so may be a mini of something. Your guess is as good (if not better) than mine! I think he looks a bit like the pearls, but he has the white socks and collar and he’s a tad darker depending on the molt.

As long as he didn’t eat much, he should be fine. But if you can, check the ingredients to make sure he didn’t eat anything poisonous for bunnies. Just monitor him to make sure he’s doing well. If you notice that he’s not eating/ pooping, or he looks like he’s in pain, definitely take him to the vet.

I read the ingredients and saw that it had wheat flour, corn flour, and dehulled soybean meal, so I wouldn’t recommend it. One or two pieces a day shouldn’t be poisonous, but it’s definitely not good for them.

I buy Oxbow Western Timothy hay in the 9 pounds size for my bun. It’s packed very tight and doesn’t take up a lot of space. My bunny also goes through it in a month, so it doesn’t last us very long.

If it has pesticides, that wouldn’t be safe. Also watch out for lawn clippings, since those are poisonous. And lastly, not all types of grass is safe for bunnies, so just double check what type of grass it is.

I am very sorry for your loss. Aspiration occurs when the bun swallows something and it goes down the wrong way (i e into the windpipe instead of the esophagus).
