Okay thank you so much! He’s on .47 ml per day and he’s 1.42 kg. It’s the “metacam oral suspension for dogs”. Does this seem right? It’s for mouth pain after the trim and for minor sores on his hocks, which the vet says is probably due to decreased activity from dental pain, and him sitting around putting pressure on the hocks more.

Since the dose is probably not extremely high, it is ok to give the dose at 7 pm. I have a rabbit that is on long term metacam, and its not always possible to administer the med at the same time every day. Rabbits metabolize meloxicam rapidly.

There are no good home remedies for chocolate poisoning. You should contact a vet. How long is it since she ate the chocolate? How much did she eat?

I would definitely have it looked into. The other possibility is just a really bad bacterial infection not caused by tooth root problems. Yeah definitely something weird going on there. I re-emailed the vet I’ve been taking him to, re-iterating his cheek looks swollen and stressing I think it could be his teeth/elongated tooth roots so I’m hoping she will listen.
