Yes, 100% separate until they are both fixed. The mounting and aggression in return is a sign of bunny-hormones and since your rabbits are right around their “bunny puberty” stage you definitely want to separate, get them fixed, then re-bond them. I would also be cautious and pay attention to them as they are old enough to reproduce and if they…[Read more]

I have a male and a female rabbits (genders memtioned by store) raised together free roaming since they were a month old. They love each other and lick and sleep together on a daily basis. The boy is now 3.5 months old and the girl is 4.5. Yesterday, I found hairs of my male rabbits on the floor. I also witnessed he tried to hump the girl but she…[Read more]

So of course today Charlie was not sneezing or having discharge. She sounded clear in her breathing when at the vets. He said I was definitely right to make an appt based on the symptoms she had been displaying for days. We talked over some options or treatment. He really didn’t want to start antibiotics when everything was sounding so clear t…[Read more]

I thought lots of things were different between the northern and southern hemispheres. Why would race horses be any different? LOL

I think splitting the day is a good option.

For things to offer – What about willow? I’ve had a lot of luck with offering dried willow leaves.

Hmm… I have not heard of trying to harden the skin. Most people say to moisturize the callus with an ointment or cream.

Nasal discharges can definitely vary. I would notice thick white-ish discharge, even when the vet said there was no active infection. This was tooth root issues though, not allergies. I don’t know about allergies, but as Wick said, it could be possible.

If it were me, I would try a prolonged antibiotic treatment again. If that doesn’t work, then…[Read more]

    Hello,

hoping someone can advise me on the next step. To cut a long story short my rabbits had a huge fight before they were neutered and have been separated since. Around a year. Both 2.5 years old brothers.
I have adapted their outdoor cage and run so they could see and smell each other through mesh. This has been for around 6/8 months.
    Ive…[Read more]

Hi Pumpkinbabe – this is actually lichen.   We normally try to brush it off so people don’t think it’s mold and freak out.  But sometimes we miss it or can’t get all of it off.   These are cut fresh and are not put through any treatment process so it is in its most natural state.

Hi Everyone. I just recently got a minilop that we are trying to have as a free range during the day and in a 2 stories inside hutch for the night. Our apartment is very small so a play pen would be actually smaller than the hutch  and leaving him out at night is not feasible – he is a trouble maker and likes to jump from heights at night (like…[Read more]

Before getting my bunny I actually watched a bunch of videos by Lennon the Bunny.I believe that she tends to be very accurate on what to expect or not (besides the quirks each buuny might have due to personality) and they made me reflect a lot on what actually involved in getting one of our pals. I’m not saying you have to go with her, but maybe…[Read more]

Glad he’s eaten a bit! I would prob tend to give pain meds over reglan, and if you give the reglan be sure to also give pain meds, and the cramping of the gut can be painful. Remind me, have you been to the vet yet over this?

You can ask the vet about his metacam dosage, he might need a stronger dose. Some buns also do better with their dose…[Read more]

Wick has early stages of sore hocks and I’m wondering about guidance on ensuring they don’t get worse! Currently, there is significant loss of fur in the area of the callus, so there is little to no more fur cushioning on his hocks. Sometimes when he lounges, I can see the callus without moving fur aside, and sometimes I can’t. One foot is…[Read more]

It has been over 3 years now, so I don’t quite remember, but Wick’s presentation sounds generally different than your rabbit’s. Wick was much more sneezy, rather than snotty. He had the white discharge, but it was more so his distress from waking up to sneeze all the time that bothered me. He never had severely goopy discharge or an excessive…[Read more]

@Bam, thank you! I didn’t know about simethicone before, and I wasn’t even sure you could syringe-feed bunnies tea for gas, but now I know exactly what to do if I see her tummy pressing again.
