The hallway would count as “semi-neutral”, so you could start with the bathroom as your neutral spot, and then once they are doing well there expand into the hallway.

Hazel replied to the topic New bunny family with some turmoil 😳 in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 6 months ago
They should be completely separated until they have been neutered and had two weeks for their hormones to settle. Then you can start pre bonding (switching items/cages etc) for a couple of weeks, then, provided all goes well, face to face bonding sessions. Their bond won’t be broken because they don’t have a bonded at this point. Baby bunnies get…[Read more]

Oh all these options are great! I tried the screen that Hazel suggested and it works so good! He has zero hesitation getting into his box now and its so much easier to clean out the pellets. I’ll experiment between paper litter and pellets for absorption and odor control. As for the smell, I can tell when he’s excited and running around he has a…[Read more]

Welcome to Binkybunny, and I am thrilled the image insert worked because Odyssey is beautiful. What a lovely color, and I really love the white paw ends!

AnnaK replied to the topic When is it safe to move bunnies in together? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 6 months ago
Thanks for your reply. I’m happy to say we now have a pair of bonded bunnies! The chasing got less and less and seemed to be more of a playful ‘you can’t catch me’ from our girl than anything. It got to the point where they both seemed so lonely and depressed when I separated them that it felt cruel so we bit the bullet and finally moved them in…[Read more]

Thank you DanaNM for your reply, so far I’ve swapped them over for 5 consecutive days and they seem quite happy still. I may try overnight soon.
As for the small space, I’m relieved you don’t recommend it. My heart was telling me it wasn’t right for them. I have a bathroom that’s about 7 sq.metres I could put them in, with or without the x-pen.…[Read more]

I agree with Hazel. He definitely looks like a Finn or Finley.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Coccidiosis disinfecting in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 6 months ago
The oocysts can persist in the soil for a long time. As for indoors and on hard/dry surfaces, I don’t think they survive very long because the conditions are not ideal for that. From what I’ve read, they die off in a matter of days. I think Wick is correct. Clean everything thoroughly just to be on the safe side, but it should be OK.

I use Yesterday’s News, but I’ve also used wood stove pellets in the past. I have a BB store litter screen and it works great.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Bunbun's personality changed after humping a toy for the first time. in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 6 months ago
I would consider less enthusiasm for food a lack of appetite. Not a complete lack of appetite, of course. But something seems to be going on. I agree with having him checked out. The humping may have been him trying to relieve pain or discomfort, especially if he was doing it to the point of giving himself rug burn.

Could it be a fungal infection? Like ringworm? Here is an article from MediRabbit. It’s a trusted source for rabbit health info.
