Hi! I have a netherland dwarf rabbit named Kokoa. I think he’s around 1,5 years old now. I was wondering if you guys know why he keeps peeing and pooing outside his litterbox these days, he used to be a well behaved boy but I think around a month and half ago there was rats inside my house and he started to pee everywhere.. and I think the ra…[Read more]

Received more info from the vet today. So apparently the location of the kidney damage is not consistent with E. cuniculi. I don’t know enough about that but the damage is bilateral (both sides) in the same location. To rule out possible underlying infection we’re doing a short course of antibiotics, following that she’s going on a long-term…[Read more]

Azerane – I remember when you got Dory! Or found, should I say?
Yes… little brown birds. They are everywhere. What’s nice right now is that most are getting their breeding plumage right now. A lot of warblers are pretty easy to identify… if you can see them. Sparrows are much harder though.
Kinglets will migrate through and cedar waxwings.…[Read more]

Looks like concentrated pee that’s starting to dry up (i.e. it’s becoming even more concentrated making it look “thicker”).

I am excited! The date has possibly been moved to the 15th if I have the day off work. I wasn’t planning to do this now but I also wasn’t expecting to get approved that quickly. Lol. I am so excited for Tater! He’s been following my cats around so I know he is ready to have a new potential buddy. Even if this bunny isn’t the one at least he’ll…[Read more]

I’m going to move their ear cleaning appointment up so I can feed two birds with one scone. I wanted to hear y’all’s opinions in the meantime since they’re not open for another 10 hours. 🥴
I was thinking possibly dehydration too. Maybe thick wasn’t the right word to use… I dunno, it just wasn’t super watery. Based on the depiction on that uri…[Read more]

I agree about calling a vet just to be sure it isn’t serious. My rabbits pee can get really dark but orangy so I did some research a while back to make sure it was normal. The color looks brown, which according to an article I found means dehydration. Not sure about being somewhat thick though, especially since it’s hard to tell how thick, but my…[Read more]

I imagine if it was diarrhea it would have a pretty poopy smell to it, but it smelled like urine to me. They’re both acting fine and normal and poops look good, the only thing that’s changed is I gave them the ivermectin a couple days ago.

Did your vet indicate if there was damage? Is it that the tooth is completely gone, or that it is grinded down very low?
If the tooth is missing, I would be concerned about the future implications, as its top-tooth companion will not have something to grind against. Did the vet mention this at all?
It may have been dental disease that rotted the…[Read more]

You’re saying it is slightly thick and sticky — I am not experienced with seeing it personally, but this may be diarrhea? Are there any changes in your rabbit’s energy, appetite, or other poop/pee?
If you can get some hydrogen peroxide, you can place some drops and if it fizzes, you’ll know it’s blood.
Whether it is blood or diarrhea, both are…[Read more]
