Thankfully it’s not a large cut. She has had some traumatic few weeks so I just want to give her the best life she can have and this just makes my heart hurt.
She has actually started rubbing her chin on me which is really sweet considering I am the one who has to clean her wound and I thought she likely would not like me for that.
She is such a…[Read more]

Keeping the bite wound clean will probably be enough. Have a look every day so you see that its healing up nicely. No other intervention is required unless you see signs of infection (marked swelling, seepage etc).
In order to bond two buns they should both be castrated and have healed at least 2 weeks from their procedures. Intact rabbits will…[Read more]

We adopted a 6-8 month old French lop (Blueberry) as a friend to our 2 year old Holland lop (Rabbit). We tried to do a quick introduction between the two of them today and Rabbit lunged at Blueberry and broke some skin. We obviously immediately separated them and will not bring them together for a while.
Luckily Blueberry seems perfectly fine.…[Read more]

So my friend has a Netherland dwarf rabbit, and it seems like he has a yellow crust around his nose and we’re not sure what it is. We book an appointment for a vet but still haven’t gotten a confirmation date.

We adopted a 6-8 month old rabbit and tried to introduce her to our 2 year old rabbit. Our 2 year old rabbit attacked her and drew some blood.
It’s a long weekend here in Ireland and our vet isn’t open until Tuesday. The cut seems superficial. Just a small bit of blood and some missing fur but she’s eating fine and still drinking water. I cleaned…[Read more]

I would highly recommend taking him to the vet as soon as possible. Swollen and bleeding genitals are not good and rabbit saliva is dirty, prone to causing infections on open wounds. An infection down there is the last thing your rabbit needs.
I’m unsure what the tone of “pocket pet” vet implies, but I feel that that may mean that vet is not an…[Read more]

Hi all,
My boy Peggy is 7 months old. He is intact (and chripotorchid). Since I discovered Pegs was a buck (hence the name 🤦🏼♀️), I knew I would have him neutered when the time is right. He had a visit with our local “pocket pet” vet last week for a checkup and to discuss his surgery. Prior to his appointment, he was a happy and healthy bun…[Read more]

I agree with Wick. This is very likely about some sort of hormonal surge. My rabbit gets these outbursts of energy in early spring, especially when we stay over in our garden shed. The only working solution I’ve been able to come up with is to keep him penned during the night. It usually okay to skip the pen after a few nights. Then it may start…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic New bunny chasing me in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 2 months ago
It sounds like she has hit puberty. These behaviors are normal. There’s likely territorial aggression and frustration going on as a result of her hormones. This will likely resolve if she is spayed, which I highly recommend.
Notably, these aren’t really behaviors you can “teach” out of a rabbit, since it is natural instinct. That being said,…[Read more]

Rabbits are most often active at dusk and dawn, so it is natural for her to be active during that time. What you’re describing does sound hormonal and would decrease if she is spayed, which I highly recommend.
Since this is a natural instinct/drive, it is not something you can ‘teach’ out of her– it’s probably best to keep her in a large pen at…[Read more]

I’ve had my female bunny a couple months now. I guess she is about 6 months. The past two days she has been chasing me around the house, biting my pant leg, stomping and making a weird little gurgling noise at me. When I inevitably trip over her she gets mad and seems to want to ‘face off’ with me. I have been having to lock her in a room to…[Read more]

Hii! I’ve had bun bun for almost 6 months now, and she usually is a bit calmer with things but last night she started to just jump on my bed, which is normal, but while doing that she jumped on my table and then on my chair and then back on my bed. But while this is happening, if she jumps on my bed she scratches and bites me, and when I dump h…[Read more]

Lol, Masha! I’m just the same with different water brands. I don’t like mountain water AT ALL.
