I think it depends a lot on what type of toy your bunnies enjoy, but generally anything for chewing is a hit in my house!

Our girl is much more into the toys leaning towards edible territory: little hay or willow rings, willow balls, etc.

And our guy is honestly pretty picky but for some reason loves these little cupcakes Oxbow makes, as well as…[Read more]

Well… he isn’t lovestruck anymore, if that’s what you mean. But that was just the hormones talking. Give him some time. Most bunnies go through a phase after their neuter where they exhibit undesirable behaviors and they can be a bit standoff-ish. Once the craze comes to an end and his hormones settle, he will go back to being his normal self.…[Read more]

Is he a lazy lop? LOL Sorry, you’re description sounds like a stereotypical lop bunny. They just aren’t that energetic.

A lot of bunnies do not play with toys. At least not what we consider to be toys. Things to try might be an old phone book (if you can find one nowadays), a cat treat ball, dog puzzle toys, etc.

I always used the “sit” method. You sit on your knees and sandwich bunny between your legs. Be sure to tuck your feet in so bunny can’t wiggle backward. For nail clipping, it really depends on the rabbit. Have you tried placing him on an unfamiliar surface, like a table?

One of the rabbits was old age, one was only 1 year old and had an unknown illness (the vet did a necropsy but couldn’t find a problem). Another was older (9), but was having symptoms of gastric distress. We don’t know if it was stasis or something like liver torsion. So it’s been a mix.

If you are considering another rabbit I would recommend…[Read more]

The dominance hierarchy gets shuffled in a trio. It sounds like they just need more time together. Patience is the number once ingredient for bonding. 🙂

Yes, paint that is safe for kids should be OK. Or you can “paint” it with food coloring.

There are plenty of happy single bunnies out there. If he gets adequate attention, then I don’t think getting him a friend is essential. That being said, many bunnies do enjoy having a companion. You just have to be willing to put the effort into it since the bonding process can be a rocky one.

Plain Cheerios are fine in moderation. There are definitely worse things.

Well, first, quick update on Ernesto’s snuffles. All symptoms gone. The vet decided to keep on with azithromycin for a few more days due to his relapse a few days ago. So we are still on it and with the nebulizer. But doing great.

Now, to the current topic of concern. Ernesto is my only bunny. We spend a lot of time together (and do I loooooove…[Read more]

    Hi DanaNM,

Thanks for sharing your story. You have / had so many rabbits. You are definitely a bunnies lover!

Did you 3 rabbits pass away because of sickness or old age ? The house rabbit we lost was a mini loop bunny. The pet shop will give us another mini loop but I am not sure weather they are easy to raise.

rabbits do give us joy . They are lovely.

    Is my rabbit okay?

I have a male rabbit, age 3, neutered and litter trained. He doesn’t really play with his toys. When I first got him, he would use his chew toys but he doesn’t anymore (most of them are just stubs now. He still has one that is a few wood blocks tied together with a string but he has never shown interest in that one no matter…[Read more]

Sorry for the misleading title! He’s a very adventurous rabbit, when I leave his play pen open he hopped right out and explored the house! I was really surprised. Whenever I clean his litter box, I just put his carrier inside and he goes right in, then I pick up the carrier with him inside and finish cleaning the litter box. This seems to be a l…[Read more]

Today I added marshmallow (female) to the bonding session. Fluffy and moose were laying together and it was going well so I added marshy to the pen. At first marshy didn’t seem to acknowledge moose and her and fluffy groomed each other. Then marshy groomed moose and they were all getting along. Marshy even lay down between fluffy and moose. I h…[Read more]

Sorry for posting so much in such a short amount of time but I was wondering earlier if anyone has a DIY treat that doesn’t require hay, pellets, oats or oat flour. My parents won’t let me use the oven if a treat has hay or pellets and I’m kinda weary of oats and I’m hot sure how to use oat flour.
