        Hi, please help asap.

My bunny has been laying down in a loafing position and refusing to eat. He’s moving the bowl whenever we put it next to him. And usually he’s super active and hyper. Whenever we pick him up he goes back to the same spot and lays there.

All the vets are closed since it’s a Sunday, can anyone help me please?

It sounds like gi stasis which can be deadly.  He needs critical care if not eating, if you don’t have any you can look up recipes for rabbit critical care. He needs to be force fed multiple times a day including night (2-3 hours). If he is not drinking you would also need to force him to. If you have a syringe it would help a lot. Massaging his belly might help him with comfort. I would recommend taking him to the vet as soon as possible. I am not a vet so I can’t guarantee that this is gi stasis but it is what it sounds like. Even if it not gi stasis force feeding him critical care and water will help. Does he take veggies or his favorite treat?

He could just have some gas. How long has he been like this? You can give simethicone (baby gas drops) to help relieve his discomfort. You can give 1cc of 20mg/ml solution every 3 hours. Belly massages can help as well.

If it’s just gas, just a dose or two of simethicone should snap him out of it. If he hasn’t eaten or pooped for 12 hours, then it would be considered an emergency and you should seek vet care right away.
