Goodness sorry for the late reply!! Reading what other’s have said, and I thank them for their help as well, and seeing that he is a lop bunny, it might be an ear infection. It seems the most likely out of the two since he doesn’t really have certain symptoms of EC, but like you said, you can’t be sure until a vet sees him. I wanna get him to a…[Read more]

I think there’s a blood test or something they can run to see what levels of hormones are coursing through the rabbit. It is possible that this may be hormonal. I understand resources (both for you and the vet) may be limited, but it may be something to explore.
I will share that my sociable rabbit, Wick, has different types of teeth purrs. I’ve…[Read more]

I used chlorohexidine to treat my rabbit’s ringworm, but my exotic vet advised me to just spot-clean the spots. I used a system of wet towels and q-tips to wet the area slightly, apply and slightly scrub in the soap, and then rinse and dry using more towels and qtips as needed. At no point is water being poured or sprayed on the rabbit, and I…[Read more]

Thank you for the response! I’m sorry I find it hard to use this website in the mobile version, so I can’t fix any typing errors 😅
So:
Re: the petting and then the “snap”, it makes me wonder if she actually is enjoying the petting in that instance.
There are times she’s super sweet, she’ll, you know, teeth purr because she enjoys it (I thin…[Read more]

The active ingredient is chlorhexidine. Diluted chlorhexidine is “safe” to use on rabbits, but some individuals are sensitive to it and can suffer chemical burns. As Dana pointed out though, baths are not recommended except under very extreme circumstances. There are many treatment options available for ringworm. Medirabbit has a nice article…[Read more]

Most pets I have had, though not beggars (I am not a fan of that so try to never get that going) have been at least mostly able to be motivated by food… and by most pets I mean cats. Cats being generally speaking hard to motivate and often picky eaters. So here I am with a bun, princeling Dorian, who puts all those food snobs to shame. He loves…[Read more]

Sorry for being unclear but I bond them in a neutral space ( a closet ). I didn’t do pre bonding because my dad didn’t want me to. They have interacted though cage bars like I put in my first post though.

Thanks for filling out the template! I moved your response over to this topic.
I notice two things that are missing/not mentioned which tend to be fundamental in the beginning of any bonding, which is pre-bonding and using neutral space.
Pre-bonding is an important step prior to starting bonding dates and throughout the bonding process. It means…[Read more]

Left the bunnies for an hour or so unsupervised. Came back and everything seems normal. They were sitting near each other. Milo went to the spot he likes to be and Louie hopped up on the sofa.
next thing I know – Milo comes out louie jumps down towards him- Milo thumps and runs and hides underneath the hutch in a corner. I picked Louie up. He…[Read more] -

I dont know, I had a bun who fell over when he had fur mites (I had just found him abandoned in the woods). The fur mites were between his shoulderblades, where he obviously couldn”t reach, but he really tried to. (I of course got him treatment and the mites never returned).
That same bun later fell over backwards in anticipation of a treat, esp…[Read more]

Is Fresno falling over while he grooms himself something to be worried about? He’s completely fine otherwise, no change in attitude or appetite and he doesn’t seem off-balance any other time. But a lot of the times when he grooms himself, if he’s not leaning against something he’ll fall over onto his side, like when he’s stretching around to…[Read more]

I think he is really offended with me. 😢😢I am really sad, I feel missing, we were like partners with Cookie, the bond between us was so strong. We slept on the sofa together, we watched TV, he would wait for me at the door even when I was in the bathroom, he would sit on the chair while I ate. Now I feel so lonely. 😢😢
Now I will never get close…[Read more]

I’m sorry to hear he is hiding so much. When I got my Elmer neutered, he stopped following me and “courting” me. He also started sleeping more. He was never the type to sit next to me on the couch or lay in bed with me though. He still liked to pet just as much though, so I think Cookie will return to his normal personality soon. I think he…[Read more]

Susanne replied to the topic Do bunnies have to eat greens? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 1 month ago
Hi, I have a rabbit who won’t eat greens. Like you, I tried a huge variety but she wants nothing to do with them! They are fine without them according to a few sources, I have a couple types of hay and sneak her a few extra pellets when my other rabbit eats his greens, and all seems well.

My rabbit went through a phase of bad food aggression. What I did was put food in my hand, make a fist and put it on the floor in front of him (wearing gloves is recommended). As expected, he would attack, bite and claw at my hand. I let him do that until he gave up. Once he sat there calmly, pondering the mystery before him, I opened my hand and…[Read more]
