I recommend not allowing him on the bed. A big part of litterbox adherence is being neutered, as the hormonally-driven urge to mark territory is drastically reduced. That being said, even among spayed/neutered rabbits, the bed is a very common place for rabbits to mark. It is soft and is full of scents to mark over and claim, and rabbits love…[Read more]

    Hi everyone,

I have a five month old holland lop bunny, and I just adopted him in March. This is my first bunny (I’ve had other pets before), so I’ve been relying heavily on information from the breeder, vet and anything online.  He is not neutered yet because I was told to wait till 6 months.  I’ve been trying my best to litter train him, I h…[Read more]

I was just thinking perhaps the people working at one of these stores would know of someone (private individual) selling hay. Sometimes they will have a phone number to give out.

Might just be gas. I’d try Simethicone and see if that helps.

Your husband just doesn’t realize that some rabbits are more difficult to handle than others and yours might be one of them. I think it’s a great idea to take them a couple of times and you can watch what method works for your vet with your rabbit. You can also have them show you how far to cut so you don’t have to worry about that.

I haven’t used these ones specifically, but they are considered rabbit safe. Rice glue is not toxic (it’s made of rice) and the quantity that’s used to compose these toys (in terms of rice content) is generally harmless, in my experience with toys that have used it. I would think they’re harmless, even for a rabbit with some intestinal issues.…[Read more]

Our vet does them too and I’ve been thinking about taking them there. My husband made me feel like a bad bun owner saying I should be able to take care of it myself etc. I told him people take their dogs to have their nails cut all the time so how is this any different. How often do you take them? I was also thinking of taking them once or twice a…[Read more]

I know a lot of people like oxbow products. I’m wondering if these toys are safe. I believe the apple ones are just made from Timothy and rice glue? That’s what I found on the ingredients list along with jute which I think is the string. Has anyone used these toys? These are the ingredients.

My mom picked these up for the bunnies and I’m…[Read more]

Update: I have rearranged (awhile ago I kinda forgot about this forum) and purchased a cat tree for my bunnies. They love it and Ricky hasn’t been climbing on my desk since I moved the crate and pull out my desk chair when I’m gone.

Thanks for the reply!  Loki was nurtured beginning of April, he was born Aug 15 2020, partner has always been here but you may be right he used to like him but now if he hears him he runs and hides.  No other bunnies. Would love another bunny, I have the space just don’t have anyone to help with the bonding.

his poop does not seem bigger but wil…[Read more]

We just bought an air purifier. We were planning to use it on the same floor that our bunny is on to help keep the air as clean as possible.

As long as we don’t use the ionization button is it safe?

    Hi Everyone,

My little boy Binx has had stasis before so I know not to chance it.  I took him to the emergency vet the night before last when he wasn’t eating/pooping for about 6 hours.  He started eating on his own at the vet and they sent me home with Metacam, some antacids and and appointment to trim what appears to be molar spurs.  He was fi…[Read more]

How long ago was Loki neutered? If it was fairly recently, this could be just a transient thing.

Neutered rabbits can however poopmark, but it mostly occurs when there’s another rabbit nearby. I had two neutered rabbits that lived next to each other, separated by a gate that divided my apt. Both buns poopmarked alongside the gate, on their…[Read more]
