Dorian (my bun) hates being brushed, he will hide if he even sees me grab the comb. Thisis a bit tricky. Rabbits can be “cage aggressive” but still not generally aggressive.

Could you do a partition in the enclosure so that you could put in food and water (and do maintenance cleaning) in one compartment while the bun is in the other?

People selectively breed those nicer qualities into the lop breeds so it could be that his genetic line is actually successful.

Have tried contacting your vet and ask why they had to use a level III sedation?

Yep, pine pellets are great. If you can’t find those, compressed paper pellets (e.g. Yesterday’s News) are good too. The pellets break down when they get wet and those wet areas can be scooped if desired.

Can you offer a bun sized piece of granite or something similar for him to lay on?  That can be cooling.

Perhaps check temp on the grass, in the shade, that should give you a good idea of the temps he’s really getting.

You say the yard is enclosed…does that include the top?  I’d worry about hawks!
