Toilet rolls stuffed with hay, I have started putting some herbs on the middle, they really like that. I have a forage mat too I use sometimes. I’ll hide some pellets or herbs in or even just a pile of hay with the herbs sprinkled in. Its a little messy but they really enjoy it.
I also try to rotate their toys, I have a box of balls, chew sticks,…[Read more]

It’s hard to advise remotely, but my gut is if it’s not full-on fights, it may be a spat that needs to be worked out. Sometimes these things happen. If you could supervise, perhaps restriction to a smaller space so you can easily intervene as they communicate with each other could work?

Above should provide good guidance on post-op care and timelines. In general, males need less time (5 days usually) since their neuters are much less invasive than female spays.

I made one out of a cardboard box. I just taped it up then cut a whole at the top for the hay to go in and then cut three squares on the side where they could pull the hay out. Seems to be working great. I wanted to try it before I bought something expensive since by buns hate hay holders for the most part. I wanted to try to waste less hay and…[Read more]

there cages are huge with plenty of room. I was wondering if they were bored the last couple of days. Normally they are out of their cage all day, I’ve been really busy the last couple of days so they are only out part of the day.
Any suggestions for stimulation toys because I think they are tired of their toys

So,I’ve had my bunnys for a few month,i they are both girls and they have always been in a playpen, I know it’s not the best,I would want them to be house bunnys. When we got them I tried to make them potty trained, it worked at first but a few weeks after they started pooping out of the litter, maybe it’s territorial poop, they did have fights in…[Read more]

Mine used to move his litter box around when he was bored, so that may be something to look into depending on how much space they have or what stimulation they are getting.
And it could be they are just tied of their hay. I had to change hay a couple times, I went from timothy have to orchard grass and now I am mixing the two. They also may n…[Read more]

Hi,
I have a pair that have been bonded beautifully for about 10 months and all of a sudden today we are having scuffling. Both rabbits fixed and properly bonded. (I got a lot of great advice here). I am not sure what may have caused this but both bunnies seem slightly agitated so something may be going on with smells. They seem ok when they…[Read more]

I give 0.5-1ml simethicone baby gasdrops per hour for acute bouts of gas, then every 2 or three hours (not during the night, just during waking hours). After that, I give it once or twice per day together with other meds. It’s not really possible to overdose simethicone gas drops inadvertently, since it is an inert “drug” that isnt taken up into…[Read more]

She hasn’t had any antibiotics. The vet said liver enzymes were slightly elevated but not out of the normal range and not enough to be concerning. I haven’t yet explored the urinary path yet but I think that’s next.
She is doing slightly better today. More active and curious. She even did one tiny binky. She’s eating hay on her own and her poo…[Read more]

As long as you can keep her hydrated and adequately warm and keep feeding her CC or other rescue formula, sticky poop isnt deadly. A bun can live for many years with sticky poop.
The liver mends itself rather quickly. Since youve done blood wirks, they’d have shown elevated liver enzymes if there were liver damage.
Discomfort can be due to…[Read more]

Hey everyone! I recently became the owner of two bunnies, so I’ve made a number of posts in here and everyone has been so helpful! I’m hoping I can also get advice on this.
My bunnies (male and female) were fixed on Wednesday this week, so we’re about 4 days post op, and they seem so be doing good! They are eating and pooping normally, flopping,…[Read more]

I’m sorry to hear that you and your bun are going through this Sillylily. This is an old topic, so I recommend creating your own new topic in our forum. In it, it would be helpful to know what tests/assessments your vet has run. Feel free to DM me if you’re having trouble figuring out how to create a new topic.

My rabbit keeps moving his litter box away from his hay. It’s usually in the middle of his cage. Any ideas as to why he might be doing this?
is it normal for rabbits to be bored of their hay? They eat it but not as much as they used too. I haven’t changed anything with their diet.

My bunny has seen two vets for sneezing (still sneezes) and his ear was itching, but no more. He was being treated with Marbofloxacin and prior to that, penicillin injections…and even panacur. He started having seizures and nystigmus from the marbofloxacin and I stopped and he no longer has seizures, it was so scary. Poor guy…he still som…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Balls For Rabbits in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 2 years, 10 months ago
Generally no, athletic balls are not made from safe material. That being said, are they toxic? .. I don’t know. If your rabbit is not chewing on them at all reliably, I don’t think it would hurt to have them for engagement! A rabbit’s chewing preferences can change over time, so just check it often.
