I agree w/ @Bam — unless this becomes an abnormally long span of time of being hay-only, I would just monitor for now, as hay is ultimately the best regulator for health as it is! Make sure to continue offering the veggies and pellets so her curiosity can be satisfied whenever she’s ready!

Oh Kate, thank you so much. It means a lot to hear from you, and I really appreciate it. You have helped us so much over the years and I’ll always be grateful!!
You are absolutely right, Teddy was Athena’s bunny, a real bun’s bun, as long as she was here. I can’t blame him — how could we have hoped to compete with her? 😉 I see it as all the…[Read more]

I do think that if she is eating a ton of hay and drinking water, you dont need to worry a huge lot. Baby buns needs extra nutrients (pellets, alfalda) and so does pregnant/lactating does, poorly buns and some elderbuns, but heslthy young adult buns do excellently on hay only. Its the same with horses, its becoming more and more common for horse…[Read more]

Hi all! I’m just looking for some input or what others have experienced. My 11 month old holland lop Rue is about 10 days post spay and went into GI Stasis as a result of inadequate pain relief (there was a meds mix up). It was a long, sometimes bumpy, road, but she seems to be doing better. She is eating on her own and pooping mostly regularly…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Any help appreciated in the forum BONDING 2 years, 3 months ago
Hmm this is really tough. With an unspayed bun it’s possible that her hormones will cause excessive mounting forever, which would be stressful for both of them. These types of bonds are possible, but it depends a lot on the personality of the buns.
My sense is that they could work out, but I think you’ve probably gone too quickly between the…[Read more]

Hi! I’ll start off by saying I have absolutely no experience with bonding. I’ve had Miles, a dwarf for about 2 years now he’s been neutered when he was 8 months old. Because of our living situation we couldn’t get him a friend but after moving we decided to try it. We got Emmi who’s 6-7 months old, unfortunately after the vet visit my vet told me…[Read more]

hi everyone “I recently bought from the website https://vetplayas.com/ brand dog toy for my high-energy German Shepherd, and I have to say, I’m really impressed. It’s made from durable material that has held up well to her enthusiastic play. Plus, the toy has different textures and shapes that keep her interested and entertained. I appreciate that…[Read more]

Hi- I can make a new topic but can’t reply. I don’t have VPN and I’ve been here a long time and didn’t have issues before. I’ve tried multiple times to threads here in the tech forum and tried to reply with pictures to my bonding post.

Bam replied to the topic Rabbit's nose looks and feels damp in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years, 3 months ago
A little moisture around/just below the nostrils is as a rule due to ambient humidity and temperature, plus the bun’s recent activity. Rabbits are obligate nose-breathers, ie a healthy rabbit only ever breathe though its nose. This means moisture from the air going in our out of the nose can deposit around the nostrils.
With bacterial rabbit…[Read more]

Hi!
My name is Mara, and in September of last year, I rescued a rabbit that somebody dumped in our community park. He is a youngish male, presumably a lionhead mix, and his name is Oreo! He is really sweet and friendly and loves cuddles. However, about mid-February, I started to notice that his nose was becoming obviously damp. I immediately…[Read more]

Those are such precious photos! I’m sorry you’ve said goodbye, Meg, even though you knew it was inevitable…. It still hurts the heart.
I love that you had such a different bond with him in the final years. It sounds like he was Athena’s bun prior to that and the you and your partner became his true companions once she went over the bridge.…[Read more]

I get an error message if the VPN is turned on sometimes. Are you using one? Maybe that’s the problem?
